lol upgraded from the closet

Posted By: jss on 2008-12-02
In Reply to: basement - not exactly

I have thought of moving INTO the closet. My husband wanted to put me in the basement but it is not finished yet. I said no way! It's cold and creepy down there. I dont' like to be by myself either. I work better with background noise.

Closet psychos

Yes, I've had that happen plenty and even had people gleefully expand on all their torturing cat stories "one time me and my buddy took a cat and...".  It's sick. Anybody who would treat animals that way and then brag about it needs to have the same thing done to them!  I stay away from anybody who needs to act like that (and I don't even have cats anymore).  Obviously they're not the kind of person you'd want in your house - what if they don't like something else you have - will they feel entitiled to destroy it in some horrific way and then brag?  They need mental help!

As far as not wanting cats to rub against them, well, at least they don't slime you with stinking saliva and cover you with mud like a dog does.  I agree with other posters that if I don't like a person's pet, child, or anything else they have, I certainly don't feel the need to announce it with pride!  To each his own, and its none of my business.  The only time I would say anything was if the critter in question was all over me and I wanted it off.

I'm a closet metal head :) nm

My son was told to go the back to the coat closet
His teacher would call me and write notes home, your son has been farting in class.  Well, finally I had to explain to her before she marked in his chart that he was a terrorist (letting off noxious gas), that he was born with pyloric stenosis.  He had the surgery at 8 weeks old.  This kid could vomit from my shoulder to the nieghbor's house.  He still can burp very loud, and is gaseous, but he has grown older and learned to let them out silently if possible, but at times I have told him if he thought that was silent, then he needs a hearing test.    I am in no way making light of the original post, just trying to shed some "stink" on my experiences with schools and flatulence.  If you do not know what pyloric stenosis is, then look it up, he was 12 hours away from death by dehydration.
my cat is 16. she went from living in my empty bedroom to my closet. sm
She goes between my closet and my husband's closet. She is eating well but just does not want to be bothered with us. She has always been a bit shy.
I am out of the closet now, just don't have the hair to sling around anymore!!

Locked my cat in the closet last night, am I forgiven?
Trying to do a good deed finding old towels, sheets, etc. for an animal rescue group that I have started working with, my big and I mean BIG cat got in the bottom of the closet and I shut the door not knowing he was there. I left the house for awhile, came back, couldn’t find, did all the things I knew to get him to show up, shaking his treat bag, running bathwater (he loves to jump over and get a drink of water from the faucets), playing with his toys, nothing, finally went and opened the closet I was looking in beforehand and there he was, all 20 something lbs of him! Well, that stressed me probably more than him but this morning I went to a high kill animal control place and was able to rescue 6 puppies that were due to be put down this morning. I hope the 1 deed this morning overrode my locking up my big boy last night.
I would like to add, my parents (both closet hermits) haha - traveled the US sm
for a year trying to find their retirement home. My mom is originally from MA and my dad from VT. For some reason or another they did not want to move the NE. No desire at all! I personally would have loved it if they decided on the NE so I could visit more often.

In any event, Alaska was their choice, hands down, because of the privacy (from other family members), plus it affords them with all the wilderness they can handle. My dad has already caught his first black bear (it took him weeks) and he just loves it.
Okay, I'm done rambling about AK. Good luck in whatever you decide!
