Me and my husband quit smoking, but over the years he has fallen off the wagon quite a few times. It is nearly impossible to catch him anymore because he has become so good at hiding it only a smoker's cough will give him away.
While it is not the same, I spent an hour looking through a sticky garbage bag of trash from his car until I found the one sad soda soaked receipt for the smokes. That was pretty humiliating, but if I did not have the proof, he would just keep lying. Never confessed without proof, so I had to get the proof.
