I switched --sm
from Synthroid to Armour, as Armour has the much needed T3 that most internists say we don't need. My hair loss subsided significantly, as well as dry skin, within about three months of using it. I will never go back to Synthroid, which I do not feel is worth the cost of it. But that is me and my experiences. still battling weight loss though. sigh. Good luck..give it a chance..and don't let the doc divert you away from what you want. it is your right to try it. it is your body..not his.
When I was switched to Armour, my dose--sm
was also lower, as they tend to start you low, just as they did with synthroid, and then increase it slowly until you reach your best level where your TSH levels normalize. I hated this part, as it was like starting all over again, but you'll get there sooner than you think. Also Armour comes in different measurments, so some docs are not sure how to change over from mcg to mg. Keep him advised of your symptoms and maybe he will raise the level a little sooner. At present time, I am at 120 mg of Armour.
Yep, we switched to Liberty Mutual last year. Best prices over everyone else.
No one could touch what they offered to insure us at. I do medical billing also and I work with them on WC claims so I know they are a good reputable company. Good luck.
Hair loss and hypothyroidism, have you ever switched medicine
from say Synthroid to Armour. I am having very severe hair loss and going this afternoon to see my endocrinologist to see about a change as what I have been reading on Synthroid is not that good with the hair loss. Tell me what you have done. Thanks
I switched to an unlisted number. It made a huge difference! nm
