I've never been in your situation, thankfully, but please, don't let anyone blame YOU for his drinking problem.  It is NOT your fault.  It is not because, to him, you are a miserable bi***.  That's how he sees you through his "beer goggles" I guess. 

I am sorry that you are going through this; I am sorry for your children.  But I am happy that you sound strong and able to do what you need to do to make a better life for you and your family.  Good luck and God bless.  I will pray for you!
