I talked to my son after I had posted the message about uninstalling IE6 and he told me I was wrong, that IE 7 was *supposed* to be able to overwrite IE6 and be compatible. my mistake, and I apologize for that. Alot of people are having problems with IE7 though and nobody knows why, but I suspect it may have something to do with security programs or firewalls. but I am not an expert either, obviously. I am glad you found a solution with Firefox though. I had tried that once and I didn't care for it, as it would not allow me to see some of my sites that I visit regularly. Everybody's system is different. Anyway, after you found your solution, maybe a good defrag on your system would be a good thing, if you have not already done it. sorry again for the bad info. It will teach me to keep my mouth shut until I talk to my son about some of this techy stuff. :^( ks
