never can tell what courts will do
I agree with you. The kid needs to be in school. Even kept at home he has the same chance of infection that he has going to school because the infection is not contained to one area of the community and Dad is still in contact with other people.

The thing is, you never can tell what the family/custody courts will do. Depends on the child's state of residence and the judge. I've seen them put kids in the custody of parents who are known to abuse them when the other parent has no problems, etc. Tread lightly, and make sure you have your ducks in a row before doing anything.

I'm not a lawyer or even work in legal field, but have lots of experience/contacts regarding custody issues. Will be happy to talk to you off line if you would like to e-mail me.
The courts have already told me
if it comes down to not paying me by the set date, they set it up to meet me there at the store with the police, I bring a truck (hubby has 1 but just regular size so am gonna rent a MUCH bigger one) and then it is sold on the court house steps. What I bought in the first place was lovely dinet set but get this, plan on if they push me to courthouse steps, to have BIL there to bid on a similar dinet set for me so guess what, don’t see that I will come out on the little end of the horn any way it goes. Not just about the money anymore as the court, whatever comes in, takes a cut out of that but that is ok too.
Name changed legally in the courts and
the reason for the change, he tells me, is he always since a child did not like his given name and as adult, when he could afford, changed it in the courts. He thinks the only reason they are not calling the new (like I said, old name like Lewis and new name like Lou so it is just a shortened version) is just not respecting his wishes. He has told them before, not just this time. The entire name was changed but this is the catch, when he got the thank you note for the flowers sent for the funeral, they came in his newer name!! The person who died, his aunt, always sent him notes, cards, etc. in his new name so not everyone in his family not acknowledging, only the younger siblings actually (those being in the 40s,50s group). So your answer, not just at this funeral time and did because simply hated his name for years. In talking about your friend's name change, I see you emphazied if it MEANT that much to her, pray tell, why do you think someone might do otherwise (other than being in witness protection??) Another thing, just to let you know, his mother prior to her death knew, respected and called him his newer name.
The courts will now get their DNA test to confirm paternity and whoever the father
really is will be awarded custody. However, given the nature of this case, I am sure the Division of Family Services will be involved no matter what.

Courts in Atlanta lied to, kids given to nonfamily members
I know for a fact, had 2 grandkids, my husband's daughter by previous marriage- we took in, their g'father died, I had in my care for awhile- real mother went to court, lied to have children stay with a nonmember (heard stories before about this person selling/doing drugs) and the courts turned them over. For the most part, I am very glad to be out of that swinging door system, otherwise known as the court system.
