So sorry, I have a friend whose sister has had this all her life, too. She has had problems with the peritoneal portion and the neuro told her not to have her transported by ambulance because the ride was too rough and when they get to UTMB they are to call him, no one else. She pretty much has led a full life, just this one thing, but you have to know her and when something is not right and what to do. Good luck to you.
