You will experience the bad side effects of Xanax, when you try to stop the intake of Xanax. Honestly, don't you notice that you are increasing the dosage on your own?

It is not a sleeping pill, it is an anxiolytic, it is supposed to lessen anxiety.
What are you so anxious about?

Try not to take it this evening, you'll see that you cannot or don't want to.
It is a highly addictive drug.

Another addicted person?

As far as everyone knows there was no threat
About why someone would rat her out, there are always going to be others that don't like someone for one reason or another. She is a junior in high school so there could be any number of reasons why someone "turned her in".
There was definitely a bomb threat. nm

Bomb threat at son's high school....what would you do?sm

Sorry this is going to be long. I tried to keep it short but....too many details.

There was a bomb threat at my son's high school yesterday. He actually wasn't there because he has been sick the past 3 days but I was going to send him today.

My son's friend found the note in the cafeteria and subsequently turned it into the office. Of course police were called and evacuation took place, bomb sniffing dogs were brought in,  etc. I spoke to this boy and several of my son's other freinds and all but one think they know who wrote the note. The note said ".....all n**gers should die.....I hope everyone else is okay but a bomb is going to go off at 12:30.....". He said the note looked like it was actually written to someone else and not left behind for the school to find.Like it might have just fell out of someones pocket or something. Being the overprotective mother that I am, I think of everything bad. That being said,  the note didn't actually state that the bomb was going to go off yesterday or any specific day, just a time. Now, I'm sure he probably meant yesterday but....what if? I'm terrified to send my son to school. Also, who knows what this kid is capable of? What if he brings a gun to school today? Or sets off a bomb today knowing the school now thinks it was just a scare?  We are a small town and don't have a lot of trouble so we don't have metal detectors and stuff in the school and we aren't really prepared for any type of situation of that magnitude.

Now, to get to why the kids think they know who it is. There is a new kid in school who has been homeschooled all his life (not that it matters but I have to wonder if the reason is because his parents are also racist and didn't want their kid associating with blacks). Anyway, this boy comes to his new school and automatically starts calling the black kids n**gers without hesitation. Well, he said it to one of my son's freinds (black boy) and ended up getting hit a few times. Then a few days later....a bomb threat against the "n**gers".  The boys also say this kid is a little weird and seems like he might have some mental problems.

So, all that being said, I believe I have a moral responsibility to talk to the principal about my conversation with the boys. I hate to make accusations and insinuations (I really, really, really hate it when people insinuate things) but this is very serious. Back in my day in high school (the same high school as my son)  we had a bomb threat via phone, we were evacuated for a short while, dogs were brought in and we went right back to class. But today, after Columbine and everywhere else, you just absolutely cannot be too careful.  And since the boys thought this kid "seems" have some mental probs, it automatically brought to mind the guy who shot up Virginia Tech. After the fact, people said there were "warning signs".

I am however, a teeny, tiny bit hesitant because if this boy really did not write the note,(and the racial remarks just coincidently were made at the same time) I feel a little bit bad for what he will have to go through. But my love for my child and his friends is far greater than my feelings of sorriness (couldn't think of the right word) for that boy (especially since I have no love whatsoever for racists) so I definitely will be talking to the principal this morning. Besides, if this boy did end up doing something tragic in the future, I would not be able to live with myself knowing that I should have said something. Not to mention if my son were hurt or killed by him.

I was just wondering what others would do in this situation and if anyone has had any similar experiences.

Terroristic threat on a child's life.......... sm
is nothing to sneeze at, and that child should have been sent home immediately and the little terrorist dealt with through appropriate authorities.

The issue about what's for lunch when the account is low is more understandable, although I think bread and water is a bit extreme. Our school serves a peanut butter sandwich and milk if a child's lunch account is overdrawn and remains so for a period of time. Oftentimes, for whatever reason, parents do not pay the lunch bill and the school gets stuck with it at the end of the year. If there are financial reasons why a child's lunch bill remains unpaid, there are resources such as free lunch and reduced lunch programs to help with this, but the parent does have to apply for it. The parent could also pack a lunch for the child if there is no money to pay for a school lunch.

Overall, I think keeping the lines of communication open between the parent and the teacher is the best route to take. Ours is a small school and so this is easier to do as the parent/teacher ratio is smaller and teachers are better able to communicate one on one with parents.
Kind of in the same vein as favorite movies threat below SM
Name your favorite holiday songs. I absolutely love anything by Karen Carpenter, love her version of all the Christmas songs. I also love Carol of the Bells.
Since we did not check prior, I can't answer that, BUT, you probably sm
want to buy them on land since I'd be afraid that the place you are visiting or tour bus, etc., wouldn't have evidence that you paid or something could go wrong, etc. It's no big deal just to pay when you leave the ship. Our ship had a big stand at the exit of the ship with different lines for different things and we would pick where we wanted to visit (the Bahamas) and then would pay right there on the spot. It's probably better that way. Have fun. And I'm jealous! :)
Just my 2 cents - from prior experience, sm
When my husband retired early (pre-65), I received SS because we had a child under the age of 16 (so both parents and the child received SS). Once she turned 16, mine stopped but hers continues until 18 or she graduates from high school, whichever is later. Once she graduates this month, then she will no longer receive SS, just my husband. Also, he turned 65 this year and receives Medicare. I and my daughter have to have our own insurance. So, if your sister-in-law has a child under the age of 16, she could be right about receiving the SS, but not the Medicare.
I meant prior to the 7 and the 8, not before the S (or were you being sarcastic? :-) nm

Followup to a prior posting
A couple of weeks ago, I had posted about making the decision to testify in a court case about an abusive alcoholic who had hit me while we were on vacation. I don't know if anyone remembers the posting or not, but I really appreciated the warmth, support, and kindness of those who responded.

In any event, the trial was last week. When it became clear to my ex-SO that I was going to testify, he contacted his lawyer who contacted the DA about making a plea bargain. The DA still wanted me to come down in case there were any shenanigans (such as withdrawing the plea bargain if I didn't go down, and therefore the prosecutor losing their primary witness). For the most part, he got a slap on the wrist- 30 days suspended sentence, 2 years probation, 40 hours community service, and Hit No More and Substance Abuse Evaluation. When the DA asked me if I was okay with the plea bargain, the only thing I took exception with was a certain way the defense wanted the suspended sentence written. I don't know if it's specific to this state or not, but there is a 'Suspended Imposition of Sentence' and 'Suspended Execution of Sentence'. The ex-SO wanted the SIS because apparently if you get through your probation, the whole thing is wiped off your record like it never happened. The DA, after looking at his record, said the ex belonged in prison anyway and that the SIS is meant for people who make 1 bad judgment, not 30 years of them, so he had no problem with changing the SIS to the SES, which makes it permanent. The judge said for expediency and since the DA and victim (a title I had never aspired to, and hope to never have again) were not opposed, he was granting the plea bargain as outlined, but if he had his way, he would have given him 9 months...frankly, I wanted to stand up at that point and shout, "But you're the judge in here, you do have your way, lock him up!!!!" However, I held my tongue and let the whole sordid episode just come to an end. The arresting officers had shown up and I thanked them again for their kindness and compassion at the time, and headed back to my sanctuary home.

As a side note, making it through 2 years of parole may be a little tough for the ex, as he has been hammered every night since the trial. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that's probably a violation of his parole, although I could be mistaken about that. And I know he's been continuously drunk since he has called me every night at 3:00 a.m. to tell me how much he misses me, and then calls me at 1:00 in the afternoon to ask me to do some 'administrative assistant' type work for him...apparently he's not used to hearing the word no. Fortunately, he has no way of getting the 70 miles to my place, and I have now blocked his phones.

Hopefully, this is how the story ends, he will get bored with getting no response and move on to someone more suitable for him, like Tonya Harding or, even better, Lorena Bobbitt.
Prior progesterone levels were perfect...sm
so that's part of the "how did this happen?" question. These are the only 2 times I've been pregnant. With the first pregnancy we never had a heartbeat registered on sonogram. I'll know more in a couple of hours today what the end results of the labs are.
I wouldn't try to trim it prior to roasting...

That's what keeps the meat nice and moist and adds all that yummy flavor!  (course, I'm kind of a fattie from good 'ol home cookin' so take my advice on that with a grain of salt).

read prior threads-you already know answer(s)

I had a similar thing happen at my prior - sm
residence. I rented a cottage on a large estate, lived there 8 years, and then the owners wanted to turn it back into a guest-cottage for visiting kids & grandchildren. I can understand that. But I know how these guys at my current apt. operate: (1) No one EVER gets their deposit back. I can forget about it anyway, 'cuz my rugs and fridge are almost as old as I am! ;)
(2) But I've seen their *upgrades* - and all they'll do is put in a cheap, thin Berber carpet with no padding underneath, and maybe paint the walls. Then they'll turn around and rent the place for $1800 a month.

Obvious error in prior reply - meant to say

I'm sure there are more typos than that - but again I've been typing with my heart instead of my hands.
Good typo
As far as the "my children are goats" that was a pretty funny typo! But, I do hate children being called kids. I have never referred to them as such and I hate it when people do.

As far as the age, it was a joke. People are saying this child is 3, 22 months old is hardly 3. And, i don't care if she wants to breastfeed until they are 5. Just stay out of her breasts for goodness sake.
Oops typo's
Sorry -- Can't seem to get my fingers to work today.  Cannot live without spell checker. LOL
thank you, BEN - oops typo in name (sorry)..

OOPS! Sorry for typo. . . . SM
As for my situation, the poor dogs next door just want to go in after they have been out for a time.  They are house dogs.  The owners just let them out to bark and bark, sometimes for hours.  The borough I live in has an ordinance stating anything over 15 minutes can be result in a fine.  Called the police once which resulted in the neighbor screaming at me outside in front of the police.  It has gotten better for the most part, but now I understand that the woman on the other side of them was complaining to some other neighbors about the barking and how ridiculous it is.  It is irresponsible on the part of the owners in almost every case.  God knows so many animals are abused and starved by humans, who are supposed to be the ones with the brains.
not so much misspelling as a typo, but...

My buppy (not a typo, just a nickname) is on my lap right now too.
Luckily he is 8lbs so I can still type, but most of the time he lays on the bottom shelf of the desk on "his towel". I can say "Okay, let's go to work now. Go get your towel" and he does exactly that. We have to spell b-y-e b-y-e or he is heartbroken when we don't let him go with us. Don't just luv fur kids?!?!
Pardon the typo above. Should be TALKING... nm

Mine was a typo of sorts
I went back and changed the title without proofreading after the change. It initially was correct with "an" in there before I started changing words. :)
Call the school. I had a threat like this in my high school and they cancelled school that day.
Thankfully, because the person making the threats was found with material for home made pipe bombs and quit a bit of ammunition and a shotgun. He was arrested and charged. Never allowed back in the school.

I think it would be safer to call the school and get classes cancelled for a day to investigate versus make a scene in the parking lot, especially if the student with the knife is inside with the knife.

Good luck. If nothing happens, pull your child out of school for a week. See what happens. I know that sounds horrible, but small towns is where this happens most often.
oops, typo-for each *woman* not women...sorry..nm
