years ago, when i was with my first husband, he had some family members who were professionals at claiming government assistance. One gal in the family had a live-in b/f bringing home good money, living in subsidized housing, claiming he didn't live there, received food stamps, plus had part of her utilities paid for, etc. oh yeah and to top it all off, she messed around on her b/f when he was at work. nice set up huh?

i think it should be given for a short period of time in order for someone to get on their feet, not to abuse it. i think it's b/s quite frankly.

Don't know what news you were listening to but they were misinformed. Bernie Mac has passed away from complications of pneumonia. I wish it weren't true. He was very funny and from what I've read a very decent and humble and wonderful person in his private life. Will miss his good humor. I did love his routine about his sister's kids among others.
