putting some stakes in beside them (or similar) and then using twine or something to go around the plant and tie to the stakes. i never did like those tomato cages. We put up some study woven wire fence and used twine to affix plants to that, which is working well.
I'm afraid if you try to transplant when they are full grown, you'll lose the plant -- its too much of a shock.
