? regarding IT

I just recently started working for a hospital that uses IT. I am an old AutoCorrect user. Can IT be used the same manner by just putting in the abbreviation, then hitting the spacebar to bring in the text? So far, my only problem with using IT is that I have to remember to put in the ; or ] to bring in the text, which I find to be time consuming.

Sorry, I know this was not what the original poster was asking for, but thought since this was about IT someone might be of some help without starting a new post.
