have never been able to get my Infinity pedal to work...
with Express Scribe. It's a pain, but I've just used the manual controls.
will Infinity pedal work with Inscribe?
I'm switching companies and foot pedals and don't understand.  I'll be using Emdat-Inscribe, and the pedal I have is an Infinity USB1.  Are these compatible? I've done what it says to do on the site for other pedals and it still won't work.  Does anyone know if this Inifinity foot pedal will work with Inscribe?
Does your Infinity pedal work with DocQscribe?

Just wondering if your Infinity foot pedal works in DocQscribe?  Does it automatically recognise it?

My friend has a footpedal that a former employee of Medquist was using, and went to use it as a new employee with MedQuist and it won't work now.  It works in Express Scribe perfectly.  MedQuist says you have to rent one from them and they won't "troubleshoot" problems with the pedal since it wasn't purchased through them......(even though it was by this former employee).

Any suggestions?

Bringing up ExpressScribe pedal question again. Does anyone have 9-pin Infinity pedal on a USB?

tia

Infinity wav pedal
The Infinity wav pedal comes in three configurations, IN-USB-1, IN-BMG (15 pin) & IN-DB9 (9pin).

What wav player program are you using, Express Scribe?

Have you upgraded your operating system?

Infinity pedal
I use the same pedal I used with DQS with MQ.  It's Infinity.  If you want the specifics, I can look them up.  In Emdat you will have to do a pedal wizard thing to get it going.  I thought it wasn't "taking" because it was so simply.  I was doing and then undoing what I'd did.  When it says to press the pedal.  You simply step on an off of it and not keeping holding it down, which is what I also did and others have done I believe.  In other words, complicating an easy task which I do!
The pedal is Infinity IN-USB-1.

The headphone, and I have tried several, plugs into the little audio hole on the computer.  The OS is XP.  I hope that covers it.

Thanks

My foot pedal says Infinity on it. (sm)
A lot of people refer to a wave foot player as any basically any pedal, but there is an actual brand that is a WAVpedal.  You can use Google and find a lot of answers that way.
Infinity or what kind of pedal??
How do you know what kind of pedal you have?  I see no markings on mine to identify it.  I see you all talking all the time about them, but don't know what I have except that it hooks into a USB port.  ??  Can you tell me how to identify?  Thanks.
Can anyone help with Infinity foot pedal??

Help! Just bought a used infinity foot pedal, works fine with Express Scribe but can't figure out how to get it to work with DSS. I don't have a serial port that it will fit into in my computer, but have it plugged in with an adapter/USB plug. I have Olympus DSS player 2002 software installed on my computer and tried to play an old file and it would not work. I need to be able to play wav files. Help!

Infinity USB pedal is a common one. See that and others

I have a brand new Infinity foot pedal I have never used if you are needing one.  Please write me back.  Thanks Mary
Infinity Foot Pedal
Can someone please help!!  I can't seem to program my foot pedal for back space or fast forward.  I can use the "F" keys but would like to use the pedal only.  No matter where I press all I get is current dictation.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Should have added below that my Infinity USB pedal works with it as well.

An Infinity 3-button pedal will do just about everything. Your headset
s
Food pedal, hee hee. Mine's an Infinity...
I've used a Dictaphone foot pedal, too, but it came with the Dictaphone. Try searching on E-bay for foot pedals or Infinity foot pedals.
Get an Infinity USB pedal from transcriptiongear.com or the Transcription warehouse. I think
s
Infinity USB pedal and Express Scribe software. sm
You may need to install an additional file to play .dss files.

This setup works for me.
I think your Infinity foot pedal has iNet software
set up so it will not play with Express Scribe (I had the same problem). I ended up buying a new Infinity foot pedal off ebay for $65 including shipping and it works fine on Express Scribe and WinScribe. Good luck!
Bought Infinity foot pedal 9 pin and works with Expresscribe.
Specifically what foot pedal did you buy and why can't Expresscribe help you if you bought it from them?
Using a DVI system C phone. How do I get my foot pedal... sm

to automatically back up a bit?   The instructions I have for my DVI are very limited and I can find nothing with regards to automatic backup.  There is no phone number (got this phone long time ago) to contact for help.  Was hoping someone here could help.  Thanks!

I had found an earlier post that said Infinity would work with InScribe, but sm
I don't think the poster knew about the most recent upgrade.

I had also read about the start/stop pedal being frustrating due to it not stopping immediately. I did find one at Dictran that said exclusively for InScribe, but there are two types there, so that was also confusing!

No, it's a regular work day.
As a matter of fact, our company is making us work on Labor Day and as if that's not bad enough, Thanksgiving too!  We get half of Christmas day off and that's it,  But it's a good company that pays us well overall, 6 cents a 75-character line, plus if you type over 4000 lines a day, they'll pay you 2.7 cents for each line thereafter the 4000.  I can't complain!  After all, things COULD be worse!  I COULD be picking lettuce or strawberries for a living so I count my blessings!!
Is there ONE pedal I can buy that will work with ALL platforms? And where do I shop for a pedal?
.
With regular dictation it would be at least 12.5 hours of work- sm
as I do not do radiology I don't know what that would mean in those terms. What is the average time for the radiology reports you do now? Take that # and divide it into 250 minutes and that will give you a ballpark idea on how many reports.
A special phone w/a foot pedal and headset attached for dialing directly into a system. Google it!

The state told us that MTs are employees because we they work in our system and do the same work as
maybe you can work for a company in another state.
Plan on plugging in a regular keyboard and mouse to work on. Much more efficient than trying to use
o
I work on VR and according to the system you will use
you might not be able to get double or triple the lines. My VR audio only goes so fast and it is entirely out of the question to make any more than I do. I keep the speed turned up as fast as it will go and the speed of VR dictates what you can make, not your speed.
Last day of the pay period. No work on the system.

It should work regardless of the programs on your system...sm
I'd try contacting their support team again.
System restore won't work for this.
The icon on the toolbar is controlled by the normal.dot file and system restore does not affect that file. You can take the icon off the toolbar by holding down on the Alt key and dragging the button down to the document window with your mouse. You can also open the customize dialog box on the tools menu and drag it off that way.
Where I work we are on a tiered system,
per pay period.

9 cpl for the first 12,000

then an extra 0.5 cpl every 2000 lines.
Does anyone know anything about the new EMR system? and how it will affect MT's work? nm

When you work in an office, you can see when others are manipulating the system.
so don't judge her for knowing
Keystrokes - Lanier system - anyone work on it?
nm
I'd work in Word and cut and paste into their system. SM
Ask them if you can type it in Microsoft Word and then cut and paste (copy the Word document and paste it into their system).

It is not feasible to work without a spell checker. Word has a pretty good spell and grammar checker and there is no reason to do without it.

See if their "tech" department can come up with a macro to copy the text of the Word document and paste it into their program. Or, you could create a Word macro and paste it into their system. Either way. There is an excellent Macro recording program called Macro ToolWorks which is free for 30 days and then $40.00 that can duplicate key strokes and mouse movements, and could copy the document, go to their program and paste it in. They you'd just hit one button, like the Ctrl button plus a number. Their tech department should only take one or two days to come up with some solution.

Good luck. I just would not work without Word spell checker and also Steadman Medical Spell Checker. Essentials to any production typing job. Good luck !
I love the night shift! No interruptions and more work on the system.
I agree with poster below - Power NAPs! I am a napper, need my nap about 30 minutes to 1 hour, before my shift and a pot of coffee sometimes 2 gets me through!
work out an indexing system that works for you and copy (almost) every report into it.

while Ops offer lot of challenges -- that's a good thing, imho, REALLY ...

I keep my op stored in WORD sorted by

(1) client

(2) specialty (general surgeon, ortho, plastic, podiatrics, ENT, GYN, GI , urology, neurosurgery etc) .... and then in word folders

(3) within speciality, within client I name individual reports like this:

470 hernia vental simple

470 hernia umbilical

470 small bowel resection

=========================================================

470 would be that doctor's id number -- the file holding 470's reports would be named with doctor's last name

=========================================================

works for me, although I do usually do big time "indexing" until I've gota bunch of copied reports.

=========================================================

It's really important to NOT consider these NORMALS until you are more familiar with the dictator ... however... this is worthwhile ANYWAY because the joy of OPs is that most doctors say pretty much the same thing in 80% of their reports ... sometimes more. Gastroenterology and GYN  are excellent "easy money" most of the time but you MUST pay attention and change every difference ...

All these saved reports need to be updated when you review your QA ... those phrases that doctor mumbled yesterday are probably mumbled 24/7/365 ... follow up and record this information.

=========================================================

I use Emedicine for my go-to for a lot of things... while they don't have op reports they are stellar at terminology and spelling, hyphens, and capitalization as far as I can tell.

One of the fabulous things about op reports is usually NO MEDICATION LOOKUPS!!!! (although you will spend time finding out the latest heart stents, hip replacemetn component marketing  names, etc. ) Most medical device manufacturers have "pretty good" web sites -- use them, rather than relative Google popularity wrt spelling, caps, etc.

Good luck -- there is a learning curve but imho it is more than worth it -- Surgeons understand that their dictation is in essence their "BILL" when it comes to Medicare and insurance -- they have a vested interest in it being intelligible and complete ... they may talk really fast but most of the time, if you have samples, you will find they are saying variations of the "same thing" using the same words/terminology.

Oh, and OP pay better.

Sincerely, good luck.!

Help getting wav pedal to work

I ordered a new Olympus RS25 pedal off of ebay, but am not sure how to get it to work with the express scribe program.  Please help if you have any clue.

The pedal did not come with any software and the lady said it should automatically work with Express scribe, maybe I am not doing something right

TIA,

sunny!

Me too! Only wish I could work the pedal with my
Big fuzzy bunny slippers.
I could never get the pedal to work!
I have a foot pedal that is plugged into a USB gameport adapter. How hard was that supposed to be? Yeah right.
I ended up downloading Transcription-Buddy, which is a free download and then downloaded NCH Swift Sound - sound Switch converter to change them over to wave files or whatever it was I could not open. This also was free. If you get it downloaded
Go under view and options and over on the right to foot control and I ended up using the Microsoft PC joystick selection.

foot pedal---any one will work I think, SM
I type on the Dictaphone Transnet platform and have two pedals and they both work. I am not sure the brand, but they are nothing particular. One is a USB and the other is a 9-pin. I am using the 9-pin right now.
Did your foor pedal work
with Real Player?

THESE ARE THE STEPS YOU NEED TO FOLLOW TO GET YOUR PEDAL WORKING, I DID AND IT WORKS.

The only steps you must follow are 14-16 to get the Footpedal working with InScribe.

After jobs have downloaded, click on Options Menu and select "Separate Play and Pause".

14.

15. On Options Menu, select "Set Actions".
16. For the F9 key, you will see "Save". Drop down the list next to the F9 key and select "Pause". The actions are in alphabetical order so you should scroll up. Now select "Pause" and press OK or Close.

Help! Can get foot pedal to work

I have started a new job with Landmark but cannot get my two foot pedals to work with Bayscribe.  Could someone please help me!

Thanks in advance!

Foot pedal will not work
Sorry, I am just so upset because I need this job and neither of my 2 foot pedals seem to work with Bayscribe and in trying to get it to work I think I may have messed up the driver.  Any help would be appreciated!
