Okay - how complicated/involved should it be for a physician to prescribed a low dose of Adderall to an adult who suspects she has ADD?  Is there a lot of testing involved?

Adderall usually works for me.
Seriously, I have been diagnosed with ADD. The Adderall helps me stay focused and very productive. My doctor actually made a joke that if he had to do my job, he would have to take Adderall too. Sometimes I question whether I actually have ADD or it's just that this job can be so darn monotonous and brain-numbingly boring. Either way, it's sad that I have to be medicated to do this job. Maybe it's time for a career change???

NOTE: Please don't misinterpret my post as an advocacy campaign for the use of a controlled substance. I was just responding to your post. I hope you find a conservative resolution to getting through such a late shift. Good luck!
adderall has less side effects that amoxicillin
it's all a stigma when it comes to ADHD meds. Parents clutch their chest in horror when you prescribe meds for ADHD, but then demand amoxicillin for every sniffle.
