This has a straw-like nozzle to attach and spray away!  This can loosen up the harder to get to "oogies" as Hayseed refers to.  Works great for me, and it is not too expensive.  You should be able to find it at department stores probably in the electronics section.

Try some canned compressed air as
transferred from your foot get down in there.  Spray it good with the air and if something is in there causing it to stick.  I've used foot pedals (knock on wood) for 10 years.  I use the compressed air though to keep them dust/crumb free.
