Boy, do I know about MTs who only want to

is there for them to do at their convenience.  And if absolutely anything else comes up, they ditch the work and decide they can do it later.  Why does an otherwise excellent MT compromise their credibility by having an attitude like this?  I have had MTs who would be excellent MTs if they would just work when they are supposed to, but always have an excuse about why they can't get the work done by the deadline (even though they've had 24 hours and knew about the deadline and the deadline is the same every day).  It's very frustrating, especially when it's not even that much work you are having them do; it shouldn't be a big problem to get it done, and over and over they let you down.  And as an MTSO, all you can do is find someone who will get the job done.

I have always taught my kids "Work first, then play."  I think some MTs' mothers didn't teach them that.
