A very interesting website...sm

This website was mentioned in my last Consumer Reports magazine.  For anyone who does Op reports or anyone who just is interested in viewing actual surgical procedures, this is a great website.  I've only sampled 2 videos so far, but they are extremely interesting and well-done.  Give it a try!  <http://www.medlineplus.gov>  If you look to the right side of the home page, you'll see the place to click.

Very interesting link...thank you! nm

Thanks for the link. Interesting. Looks like they skipped a couple of steps. (nm)

Here is the website. There is a link to e-mail them at the bottom. sm
I would write them and ask them about it. Not sure if yours is older or not, but they have Version 9.02 now, so we are both behind the times.

When you go to the Shorthand website and click on the link to download and....

click save and save it to your jump drive.  Once you've downloaded the file.  Open up your jump drive, double click on the download to install.  At the point in the installation where it asks you what folder to install ShortHand (it usually defaults to c:programs files or whatever.  You click browse to change to the destination to your jump drive (for example, mine is E: on my computer).  Then install like normal.  Now the program will be installed on your jump drive instead of your C drive.  Then when you want to run shorthand, you simply plug in your jump drive, open it up and click on the shorthand icon to start the program.

I just went to the website and clicked on the link to download the newest version and it worked.
www.pcshorthand.com is the website.  You can download a free trial of the software, but eventually you will have to buy a license.  You can also pay a little extra and have them ship the actual software to you with an instruction manual.
your post was one of the more interesting
posts i've read in a long time, and amusing, sorry I didn't comment.  As for dinner, tuna casserole and oreo cookie pie oh and my puppy says hello.
I find your post interesting. I am one of those that will not do this. sm
1. I teach at a local college. I teach MT classes, A&P and medical terminology. Guess what, they do not require it. Again they use my experience in lieu of it.
2. I know what position I currently hold. Again, does not need it and experience again is used in lieu of it.
3. I have 20 years of experience. Do I care if I have CMT behind my name? Really I don't. It will not make a difference.
4. I have worked in MT, QA, Management, etc. Again, did not need it do any of the above.

AAMT or AHDI as it is now callded.. they are there to sell a book to make money. They are selling a "title" to make money. However, this title makes little to no difference in the real world.

I have worked for companies that did pay their CMTs 0.5 cpl to 1 cpl line higher than people without it. Learn to negotiate is all I can say.

Your CMT certification does not keep jobs from going overseas and does not qualify you to have the knowledge to be an Editor of that type of work.

Anyone with 2 years' experience can take the test. Big deal. All companies test and I say at least half are bull. I have failed 1 test in 20 years, and then they hired me anyway because they felt there was something wrong (Thank you MTtest.com).

I have 20 years' experience. I am very good at what I do (and yes I will say this). I can also get the rate I want or tell them No Thank You.

I have worked with MTs from no experience to OMG experience. I have seen failure in both areas. The CMT would not have changed anything for either one.

A test is a test is a test. You might have a good day and pass it, or I guess you might not.

I just do not feel the need for someone to tell me that I know what I am doing.

Everyone have a great Wednesday!

looks like u forgot to post the website

RE: The Try MT website post from yesterday...
Did anyone else get an angry reply from the guy who has the site? I saw the e-mail was addressed to several others besides myself.
That is an interesting site. Thanks for taking time to post it--nm

See my post on Gab board about Christmas. Interesting stuff!

You should have a website and post your jewelry for orders!
I'd love to see pieces that could be ordered!
Got 3 from Susan Poe, same context. Please post website here
because the emails are being generated by these looney tunes from this board. If others have not seen it yet, they will.
Please do not post or email about other MT websites through the MTStars website.

Sorry you feel that way, but we have never allowed offshore MTs to post on the MTStars website.

This is not something new, it's been this way since the beginning.  The ONLY difference we made was to allow US based MTSOs that offshore the ability to post job ads because they hire US QA Editors.

do you have a link you can post.
i just lost my paperwork telling ME how to get line counts.
Are you serious? Pls. post link to this.

Please post the link - thank you
.
Can you post a link to this?
I am looking at one at Office Max but I haven't decided.  I bought one last year that I thought was just dreamy and now it's more suitable for sleeping, the back is all flopped back.  It was SPENDY, too, now pretty much shot.

A link to a MT website is always correct?  LOL...

Think I'll trust my link...Allen Medical...they sell them...

Could you post a link to this article?
I would really be interesed in reading it myself.  I have tried to search for it myself but cannot find it.  Thanks.

For post office jobs see link

I mean the post below regarding MQ being sold. I have tried to attach link.

But there is a link on that board to post a resume and you
can post it there.  Job seekers board is only for companies to post about positions.
Had trouble with link . . . check one post up

There are several forums to post on at the Religion link.
I wouldn't call it "fragmented".  The poster can ask his/her question on more than one religion board and receive a variety of responses in which to make an informed decision.

Here's a link to an excellent post at Productivity Talk by Tonks. I'm trying this out right now. If it works, I'm going to send her a big thank you.

Above post is correct, see link - Ashe disclosed himself...

somebody called the press and leaked the story - but absolutely no identification that it was a healthcare worker. More likely an old ex-girflriend!

"Ashe, who was ranked first in the tennis world in 1968 and 1975, said with some bitterness that he was making his disclosure only because the newspaper USA Today had called him last week and revealed that it was working on a story saying he had AIDS. "

Post comments about bad service/products/companies here (link below)
http://www.my3cents.com/

also lodge complaint with BBB in their state, their state's atty. general, PayPal, and any other internet consumer watchdog you can find (there are a lot) Be sure the company knows you are doing it. Your bank should be able to supply you with information about their company if they have already taken your money.
umm.. are we allowed to post pictures with the direct link code listed?
because I did and it won't show.. the image has not been moved or deleted.. it is a little gif of MC Hammer dancing to Grammar Time. Darn.
