Congrats on sticking to your guns

I worked for a company as a so called IC.  Then all of a sudden we had 4 days to decide if wanted to be an employee and if not had to incorporate.  4 days is not enough time to do that so I became employee.  I think it is a control issue!!  They will tell you when, how and where.  It all comes down to how high do you want to jump?  :)  For some not high enough.  When they want to start furnishing the computer, the reference materials, benefits, etc. then it is worth looking at.  That to me is an employee.  Until then.....

Stick to your guns
They all think being a grown up is so great until they get there.  Stay strong.  If you give in and let her jump ahead then tomorrow she will become bored with this and want something even more.  They grow up soon enough.
Stick to your guns!! I went through the same thing

with my husband always trying to help out one of "best buddies."  I went through this twice, with two different useless house guests.  The second time, I told hubby to go and take his "friend" with him.  After he had a little time to think it over, he realized that home and his family were lot more appealing.  Your husband will come around, especially if his family is supporting you.  Just go on with your life and let him think it over.  One word of advice, and this is what we did, when my husband wanted to come back home, we made an agreement NO MORE HOUSE GUESTS unless it was immediate family in a dire emergency, and then there would be a time limit set when they came to stay and it would be enforced.  Be strong and Good Luck!

Glad you stuck to your guns!
.
Very proud of you, you stick to your guns, and when the going gets tough,
be even stronger.  Tie another knot and all of that.  You are on the way to a healthier life for you and your children.  You will survive.
That happened to me once... guns drawn out in front yard..
lived in a track house, so houses were real close together.  Turns out the single woman living next door who seemed to have no end to her money to buy nice stuff was running a racket out of her house, somehow tapping into computers in warehouses for big companies and having merchandise like applicances and computers sent to people without them having been paid for.  FBI surrounded the place, digging in trash, etc.  They finally got her and she went to federal prison for a while, then came back and skipped parole and they were back for her again.  Weird.
Juat about anything by Guns and Roses, Meatloaf, Queen. Like it Loud when alone! :) nm

It would never work without EVERYONE sticking together!
and when it comes to actually "doing", they chicken out!  Only if a good majority of you do it, will it work.
transcriber sticking
My Pearlcorder T1000 is skipping every 2 seconds, both in play and rewind. tried cleaning inside with alcohol. any other ideas? TU
I'm sticking with QLDB then. Thanks.

No, that is not the sticking point-
she is not wanting to make just 900 a month - she says she is fast and wants to make lots more than that but cannot because of how she retired- only ALLOWED to make 900 a month- She is being dishonest and that is why people are angry at her. Would you like it to be working and paying 30% in taxes and yet your next door neighbor works and gets paid in cash with no money going in in taxes- would you like that- would you consider it fair to you? Same thing here, fairness.
Keys sticking

Get a new one or else clean it out with a vacuum or one of this spray cans for keyboards. When my keys start sticking especially the spacer bar, it's usually a sign that it's ready to be replaced.

It's amazing how much junk you find between the keys. Slide a little business card through your keys and see what you come up with. LOL

Maybe people will start sticking together
and acting as a group, instead of bicking with each other on this forum.
Anyway to fix a sticking foot pedal? SM
It is an IN-USB-1 foot pedal.  It just recently started sticking.  I will press the play button with my foot and sometimes the dictation will just flicker.  Other times, the dictation will keep going.  Even after I released my foot and it just goes on and on and on... I cant stop it..   I would hate to have to spend the money for a new one....  I mean if I have to I have to, but if anyone knows of a way to fix the problem, maybe clean it with something....  then please share your knowlege!!!!  lol.  Thanks guys!!!!
No matter anyone's reason for sticking in a
job, that's still no excuse to do a job haphazardly.
Foot pedal sticking. Is it time to get a new one? sm
I've noticed the last couple of days my footpedal is sticking a bit when I take my foot off of it.  Not staying on but sort of a bump/creak  and just not working smoothly.  Is this a sign that it will be dying on me soon?  I don't want/can't afford to be stuck without.  Anyone have similar issues and how did you fix it or is it just time to invest in a new one.  This one is 3 years old.
sticking your neck out? i'm alone? your a friggin anonymous poster on an MT board not CIA.
How do you know I am STILL (caps lady MQ apologist strikes again?) alone? Truth be told, you don't know anything and are whistling in the dark using bunches of words that say nothing and pretending you know something, which you obviously do not. You are scary.
CONGRATS!!!

This is probably one of the HARDEST things you'll ever do in your life, but YOU'RE WORTH IT and so is your family!!!

Congrats on the job!
I have had no problems with them at all. They are a great company to work for. Don't let anyone on this board tell you anything different.
Congrats!
I've been with MQ for six years, and have been quite happy.  I have had steady work flow with only a day here and there off due to lack of work (1-2 times per year).  I have had steady accounts and have been quite content!  A word to the wise - take the negative things you hear about MQ on this board with a huge grain of salt.
congrats! ....
thanks for posting! i needed that smile this morning!! keep dancing and keep strong!

You should be proud of yourself.  I tried but was going through a horrible expensive divorce and he just left me with all the bills and even with the attempted consolidation had to file a Chapter 13 but am paying off something to everyone but I really wish I had been able to go your route.  I have 10 more payments to the bankruptcy courts and then I will feel good.  But again, congratulations.
Congrats to all of you!
It's such a hard thing to do...y'all should be proud!
Congrats on the new job!
Gross line: Any line with a character on it counts.
Raw gross lines: All lines on page counted, character lines and blank lines.
65-character line: Count total characters on page, divide by 65 and that is the number of lines. There are variations on that, number of characters per line, or counting spaces/no spaces.
Congrats!.......nm

MT is harder than it seems.  I've dreamed for a long time to be an MT.  Learned today I'll keep on dreamin.  Congrats to all those that love it and are successful at it.
Congrats!

How wonderful for you!  It's so nice to hear about someone who isn't already rich winning like that.  I agree with the other posters about not going crazy spending, but do enjoy yourself.  Life is short, so have fun!  Oh, I would probably quit the job.  Explain your reason and I bet they'll wish you the best.

I don't know if I helped, but you're welcome if I did.

Congrats again.

WOOHOO!

I emailed out over 137 resumes in one weekend and got a job from those.  There is a better result when you send out lots of resumes, I think.

Congrats!  So excited for you!

Congrats to all of you!
I'm 57, attempting to re-enter nursing after being away for many years. My original goal in my 20s was to become a certified nurse midwife, which I never accomplished and still regret.

Good luck to all of us!!
Congrats
Congratulations! No matter what anyone says there are a lot of "flakes" in this business and when push comes to shove when actually competing for a good job (sadly few and far between) I think the CMT would give you the edge.
congrats
Congrats on completing your coursework. I am glad you got help off this board and not disillusioned. There are lots and lots of positive posts and you can get great word help. Just don't let the negative folks bring you down. I wish you the best of luck in your job search. Best advice is to be persistent and take the tests. I have transcribed for many years and still love it!
that's fantastic! congrats!!

how did you get so lucky to find a man that can actually voice his appreciation of you to you!!???  there aren't many out there like that.

Congrats! Now be sure to call (sm)
the police officer that wrote the ticket and let him know that you will see him in court!  You don't want to take the chance of him not showing up for some unforeseen reason!  Also, if he knows he needs to remember what her face looks like, it will be easier to do it now, then later.  Once this little fiasco is part of her record, whenever she gets pulled over they will know she was convicted of providing false info!  No more "I left my license at home" for her!   Glad you got it taken care of so quickly!
First off, congrats on landing a job! (sm)
From what I've read, heard, and seen, ANY PLACE is a good place to start out. It is so difficult for a newbie to land the first job.

The best place to start out would be in-house so you have helpers right there, but so few hospitals have in-house MTs any more.

You will hear bad and good things about MQ, but at this point, just go into it with a positive attitude and as a way to get your foot in the door. After you get experience and if you're not happy there, at least you can put something on your resume.

BTW, I am happy with MQ in general. I love my office, so I just try and have a good attitude myself so I don't become distracted and waste time worrying about the other issues that plague them.

Again, way to go, newbie!!
Well said, and congrats on your 12 years! NM
