I have no respect for many of the doctors I transcribe for. They are just people, ofter with
:+
I should say that my doc fixes his own tapes!!! sm
He takes them apart, rewinds, and then tapes back up.   Of course, he tells me to throw away when I am done transcribing.
when Frank fixes Imail, then I might get his letter.

long and short term fixes
Keep ants from coming back by washing the area they were invading with ammonia to kill the scent they leave as a trail.

White flour (the kind you bake with) put over an ant hill (thick coat)or on the floor where they are invading, etc. will make the ants move to another place, but does not kill them, but is fast for getting rid of a big colony in your back yard.

Green Light is a commercial product that will kill the ants like Tarro does, but is not as fast as making them move somewhere else.
whenever I had problems, fast answers/fixes by emailing (see inside)

try rebooting
try rebooting.  Also try unplugging and replugging into the port, before you attempt to reboot and again afterwards if that doesn't do it.  Sometimes we think we have it plugged in right and if it's hard to get to like mine is, it might just need to be wiggled slightly.    I've had that problem time and time again,,,next time I'll write down in my little flower book what I do when this happens.   I have a little dollar store notebook beside my hard drive and I've started writing down EVERYTHING because when you get to be my age, you no longer remember....
Number pad.......try rebooting. nm

Did you try rebooting to see if it would recognize "new...sm
hardware?" Sometimes that will work if there is no driver to install. Hope this helps!
try rebooting, Control-Alt-Delete 2x to get it to do it generally- if you still have troubles it
could be a virus maybe?  Have virus protection on your computer, firewall? - Good luck.
That's because programs use up memory resources and you can only get them back by rebooting or
shutting down and booting back up. I always shut down at night.
