EMR

It does not go into the hospital system unless it is compatible.  Most doctors purchase an EMR system which is their electronic charts.  You have to be able to access this system if you work at home via PC Anywhere or some type of network capability.  You type directly into the system.  There are built in templates, quick phrases, etc.   It is set up somewhat like Quick Correct well Practice Partner was.  It is a little different to get used to and it is not time saving at all as there are about 4 steps you need to take to drop in a template or phrase.   Also once you save the file and if it is incorrect you then need to go in and do a revision and sometimes insurance companies and attorneys and others do not like to see several revisions on a chart note as it signs off as a revision every time.  I worked in PP for 18 months for 5 docs.   They still dictated on tapes but I transcribed directly into the system/patient's chart.   It was not faster for me, way slower than traditional transcription.   Also could not be paid per line but it was hourly employee.   Patti
