See if there is someway that you can type into the ERM's.  I did that for a year.  It is more time consuming and sometimes -- depends on the program, needs to be done on site.  But with some you can be hooked up at home to get into the system.   The clinic that asked me to do it, the docs found it was faster for them to dictate on tapes, and I would type directly into the EMR's.   They did not like sitting there for a couple of hours finishing up the charts or at times the charts did not get finished.   So they went back to dictating.  First one doc, then another and then all 4 when they realized that the could leave at 5, dictate in their car on the way home and be done with all of it by the time that they got home.  Never had a problem with them dictating in their car.  But be inventive and make a presentation to them to do it.  Also ask if you can help get the templates, quick corrects set up so that they don't have to type it all in.  But show them how it might be benefical to them to continue to dictate and see more cash paying patients rather than be clicking and dropping things into the chart.   What do you have to lose to do so?
