My doctor just smiled when I asked him to let anyone who wants a transcriptioniist to call me. He said he does not hear that much any more.
Last year I ran into this at a dr. office - same thing, drop down menus, etc. I feel threatened.
I saw a physician asst. who literally sneered at me when he told me he "did his own" transcription.
Drs and so on seem to think it's funny or old-fashioned to be a medical transcriptionist. Sort of like we're on royal manual typewriters or something.
sense the end is near also.
