I used FTP today (i think it is ftptoday.com) when I utilized Gear Xport. However I quit that job two months ago and use neither. I did use FTPtoday for 3 years though, (cost around $50.00 a month) and it was pretty cut and dry, as I consider myself "software challenged" as you put it LOL. They set everything up, and I am not sure who you went through to buy Gear Xport, but I use transcriptiongear.com and they were ALWAYS on top of helping me out. Good luck
