From what she has said, she is a strong person, standing up for her rights.  She has done the right thing all along, in my opinion.  Yes, the parents should butt out, but the son does not seem strong enough to make them.  She needs to continue to take care of herself and her son first.   My DH is not disabled, but does have some emotional/anxiety problems that he cannot help.  After 26 years I am glad that I never turned my back on him.  I had some issues with his mother trying to control our lives, too, but I stood my ground and things have turned out for the best.  Our 21-year-old daughter has the same issues he has.  That is how I came to realize that it is not his fault.  If she cannot possibly live with him, they should separate.  He my come to realize that he needs her and their son more than he needs his parents.
