 Perhaps some of the attitude may come from the fact that our income has been almost halved over the last 15-20 years!  MTs have become very frustrated over this, and some of the good ones have even left the field.  We are monitored and QA'd to death.  Our paychecks have taken a major hit.  Transcriptionists fresh out of school/training are more willing to work for insulting line rates than, perhaps, those of us who have been doing this for 20+ years.
 
 If we are treated honestly and fairly, then, yes, we can in turn give quality, hard work, dependability, and "love of the job".
