    Being blunt is okay and

surgically, there will be no more kids.

Yes, I have made poor choices. Of the five men I have dated in my entire life, I married and divorced one, dated one for 6 months, 2.....I dated for two months, and have been involved with this one for 3 years. And yes, that includes dating during high school. There has been a total of 4.

But yes, I am a very hard worker, owned 1/2 a dairy farm, I know of hard work, expenses and hard times.

Sorry to be blunt, but some of it came by way of her own doing.
She has made poor choices, BUT, she sounds like a hard working forward looking lady who CAN make it on her own.  She just needs to unload the loser boyfriend, learn from her mistakes, and just concentrate on her kids and her own life and put men on the back burner for now, lest there be MORE kids brought into an unstable relationship.
Yes, it's blunt, but it is what it is...sm
    and I agree with you.

Too many MTs are still graduating from MT schools which lured them into their program by false pretenses, for their profits only.
These newbies do not get any jobs, there aren't enough.

Additionally EMR and VR also make many MTs obsolete.

When will people realize that it does not pay anymore to get into the MTing field.
You can be honest w/o being blunt

There was a huge discussion about negativity a few days back on the main board, and many were in denial about rude comments taking place. WELL  - HERE YOU GO.  Prime example.  You know - you can be honest without being blunt and rude.  Did that ever occur to you?

Being blunt, does not mean being rude!!
Just because you do not like the answer, does not mean it is rude. Not everything needs to be "sugar coated."
She was blunt but in a nice way. sm
I don't mind hearing what I need to hear if it is done in a nice way.

I am guilty of not minding my grammar on MTstars. I just kind of do the same thing I do when emailing friends or something. If it is a problem, I will watch my grammar on here. Personally, I don't think I am the only one who does it though.
You aren't going to be flamed by me. sm
I use a reputable cleaning service which is bonded and insured.  I pay the company, the company pays their employees.  Plus I wouldn't let someone I didn't know in my house without bonding and insurance.
I will probably get flamed BIG time for this, but
I have to say I agree somewhat with your friend. I do think God's ultimate plan was for the husband/father to provide for the family and the wife/mother to take care of the homefront. Unfortunately, society, myself included, has made this hard for the woman to do. In most homes, it takes two incomes to get by. I worked for most of my children's growing up years and I wish now that we had learned to live on what my husband made so I could have stayed at home with them. I missed a lot of things because I was outside the home working. I have also been a single parent and had no choice but to work to support myself and two children. Thank God, their father and I remarried after about six months apart, but I chose to keep working because the extra income was nice. Anyway, enough said. I do wish that I had chosen a simpler lifestyle without the unnecessary frills that my income allowed. I realize this is only my opinion and everybody else has their opinion, too. I'm not downing anybody who chooses to work; after all, that is exactly what I did, too.
    Wrongly flamed
Okay, I posted a job on another board.  There were no replies, yet there is a flame.  I did nothing wrong, yet, still got a flame.  I'm confused.  Thanks for your response.
I would but I just flamed and hissed at.

Simple truth, if blunt, from National MT. SM
Please note that the figures cited are averages--a lot of people do significantly better working 40 hours a week, or less. And that's the simple truth too.

As is the reality that the higher earners are pros who've been at it for some years--it makes a tremendous difference in line counts to not have to look terms up. They're typically very familiar with their accounts--busy knocking out reports instead of trying to figure out a physian's name. They're either killer typists or have built Expanders with tens of thousands of entries, doubling their typing speed, or both.

And they're disciplined workers who put in a real 30-40 hours a week of production time--not fooling themselves that they're working when they're not, whatever the reason, including slow periods in work. If an employer can't keep them working most of the time, they find a new job. Their high line counts earn incentive pay bonuses--consistently--that bump their base pay a whole cent or two per line. Or they're just paid more per line because they're good and they and their employer know it.

These are uncertain times, and incomes are going down for some, including some pros. And the shift to production pay is very hard for many who are accustomed to being paid based on the hours they show up; 8 hours a day of genuine typing, pushing, pushing to knock quality work out quickly, is much harder. But it's still possible for a skilled MT to make decent and even good money 40 hours a week.
Totally with you on this one and will back you as you get flamed..been there done that.

[sigh..] I know I'll get flamed for this, but - sm

     - here goes, anyway!   ----  "How funny would THIS be?"

I know it would be impossible to ever get MTs to stick together on anything, let alone a work-stoppage kind of strike.  But can you imagine the hilarity (at least on OUR end, anyway), if for just one week.  Heck - one DAY, even -- we all decided to transcribe everything verbatim?  And I mean, VERBATIM, not the 'fixed-up' kind of verbatim most of us are expected to do.  I mean verbatim, as in if they don't punctuate anywhere in a 3-page letter, they get a 3-page unpunctuated letter.  They screw up the 'copy-to' addresses, then instead of spending OUR time looking up the correct address or spelling of the recipient, let it go as-is.  If they say "left" and MEANT "right", they get "left".  When they bounce back and forth between calling the patient a "he" and a "she", and don't clarify it, then that will be come a report on the world's first simultaneously dual-gender individual.  All the little checks and balances, and save-their-@ss type of transcription we do automatically, doesn't get done for one day.  Unfortunately, it would probably cause every Editor in the country to simultaneously call in sick with killer migraines.  But that's okay, at least it would be FUNNY.  And lord knows, this profession could sure use a laugh now and then, couldn't it?

Geesh, yourself! Who says I did?
As it is, I went to the website and cashed out the account.  I'm only dealing with my local agent on my other policy.  I told the company I didn't agree with offshoring the customer service positions.  I just find it hard to believe that all of my information is in Panama.  They have everything on me from my date of birth, my parents' information, banking information, my social security number, everything.  I don't like that one bit.
    Geesh
Hope he doesn't dictate while in the bathroom.
    Geesh
I think my self-esteem has gone out the window today.  I just read my post after I sent it.  I meant to say "looks promising".  Maybe I do need to go back to school
about an AI contestant, not sex changes-geesh..nm

Geesh, send me some gas please...
We're still paying $2.69 around here in Idaho, at least in my town.
Nope, not much help for newbies here. On the bright side, at least you didn't get flamed!!
That's the usual course of events.  Or the doom and gloom posts about how HORRIBLE this industry is, how HARD it is to get educated, how IMPOSSIBLE it is to do ESLs, etc. Nope, this board is NOT the encouragement board for anyone, let alone newbies! I would try the "other" boards.  Though that will cause a flame as well!
Oh yeah baby, just 12 more hits and I get FLAMED! Come on' give me FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nm

Geesh, yes, that is superficial. He has come a long way
since I first saw him. He did start having work done on his teeth. Being from a single parent home with limited means obviously didn't offer him the pleasure of having perfect teeth before going on Idol.

Kat is only great when? She has had a couple good moments, thinks she can sing songs that she can't because she has pitch problems, but has the "look" that obviously moved her through to the finals. Now that's superficial.

Anyway, I'm a Elliott fan who agrees with below, if Kat wins I lose respect for the show and truly believe it's all rigged for ratings. Taylor is a true, well-rounded performer and should be the next American Idol.
I posted right below that that one got close. Geesh.
When I was with MQ I typed 350-400 lph on MTS. With my bonuses and incentives, yes I would have made $100,000, instead I chose to work 15 hours a week and make $33,000 as I posted. With the changes, my average pay was cut in half. I will probably not make that much for quite a while, but I'm close enough to make me happy.
Geesh, probably only problem is he gives resp.

geesh yourself. I wasn't being rude, just pointing out that

the people I worked for, over the years 4 different chiropractic offices in different states, and they all had cases filed against them for various complaints regarding treatment.  So, in MY opinion, I do consider them bone crunchers and I would never go to one for treatment.

Sciatica affects the nerves and acupuncture is HIGHLY effective in the treatment of sciatica because they treat the nerve not the spine.  Acupuncture for sciatica is the better way to go than by treatment of a chiropractor.

Geesh! What's up with you people who refuse to work holidays?
Don't you think people get sick, have accidents, etc on holidays too? What about the doctors and nurses that have to work holidays? Did you forget about them too?

How about police officers, firemen, paramedics...

Do you think you are the ONLY people out there with family and would like to spend time with them during holidays? We would all love to do that but this chosen career requires some sacrifices.

If you can't give a little you should have never started doing this kind of work.
Geesh..hope this gave you your daily shot of self worth.
