Do you mean the Microsoft website to download patches and stuff?

Microsoft
Ok, Microsoft 4000 sounds like the keyboard to buy but can someone explain a bit more in detail why is takes a week or so to adjust to it? And is it a "clicky-sounding" keyboard?  TIA
I have Microsoft
Ergonomic 4000.  it was the best investment I have ever made.  It took me a whole day of typing to get used to it but now I have a hard time using the standard keyboards.  I think I paid around $60 for mine at Staples but I'm an IC so it was a write-off and believe me, I need all that I can get.
is that microsoft?

Microsoft Word
I am purchasing a new computer and obviously we all know the headaches of transferring all of Word information to a new one, or at least I dread it.  How do I save all of may Autotext and Autocorrect entries to transfer to the new Word on the new computer?  Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
It IS Microsoft's problem....
I worked for an MTSO and told her I was having trouble. She did not use Smartype at all and one day had this happen to her. I did contact Microsoft and they knew about the problem. It is Microsoft's problem and it is with Word 2003.
Microsoft Office

Hi:

While moving, I lost my Microsoft Office 2003, Teacher/Student version, I paid over 150 dollars for it, and I was wondering if there are any other office programs a little cheaper that are compatible with doing transcription?

Microsoft Word help

I hope I can explain this right:

I can be typing along just fine in Word, and suddenly it will "blank out", causing me to retype sometimes two or three sentences. There are times this happens three or four times per report, and times it does not happen all day. I have to stop, click with the mouse back to where I was, and retype. Does this make sense and does anyone know what I can do to get it to stop? Thanks!

You have to check out this Microsoft VR....sm

Thank you Microsoft for job security!!
LOL
I have Microsoft 4000 too...sm
I've had mine for about a month now.  It took some getting used to, but I love it.  I've had several ergonomic split keyboards in the past, but this one is just more comfortable for me... not sure why!  I got mine at Office Depot on sale with rebate for around $25.  BTW, My husband also got one at BestBuy; they honored the Office Depot sale price with no rebate to send in.
Same Here; Microsoft 4000
I LOVE it and don't know what I'd do without it.  Best thing I bought for work.  It took me about a week to get used to it and my speed back up to normal.  It sure was worth it, though!
Microsoft Word help please

For the first time in my 5 years of MTing, I am going to be working in Word and I need to make macros as well as auto text and I am clueless how to do this.

I know it's a lot to ask but y'all are the best.  Can someone walk me through the steps.  You'll be my new BFF, I promise. :)

I have the microsoft, and I like the keyboard, but
I don't like the built-in wrist rest. It's too hard, and I still have to put my gel pad on top of that. other than that, I like it. It took some getting used to for a couple of days.
Microsoft keyboard
I just got mine, but I really like it. It took about a week for me to get used to it. You have to get used to having your hands a little farther apart. I love the space bar and the favorites keys at the back. I suggest just giving it some time and keep typing on it. Good luck. You can customize a little by going to My Computer.
microsoft 4000 Yes!

I use the Microsoft 4000 and it is the only keyboard that I don't have pain with.  My wrist pain was so bad that I thought I would have to give this line of work up.  I have tried many many keyboards including Goldtouch, the other microsoft ergonomics (2000 and Elite), Belkin, Typematrix, Logitech split, Kensington comfort type, etc. ergonomic this and ergonomic that.  Wasted a lot of money looking for the right one.  But the the Microsoft 4000 was the one.   No more pain.

The one thing that I do is use a mouse bridge over the number pad to bring the mouse in closer and I also got an ergonomic mouse.  The investment was well worth it because it increased my comfort.

I got 2 of the MS4000 keyboards on ebay for about 12 bucks with 10 bucks shipping.  It was worth 25 dollars.  If you are willing to buy from there you don't need to pay 50 dollars and can probably get with shipping under 25 or so.  Good luck.

Microsoft 4000
By jobs, do you mean reports or the whole enchilada? If it's the latter, that's horrible!!! I tried to explain to a former boss when I was having this problem with my keyboard, and she seemed to think I was making it up, but she didn't fire me. I even had access to another identical keyboard and found it had the same fits. That's just awful! You have no control over when it happens. Wonder if Microsoft is aware of this little problem?
Microsoft keyboard
Try this. Press Shift/Ctrl, left and right side of keyboard at the same time, and hold for a second.

Microsoft Update
The latest update that is sitting and staring at me is so huge that I know that I cannot update it with dial up. Does anyone know what I can do to get it? TIA
Microsoft SP2 tech ? please sm
Have older backup computer, won't take my Norton antivirus CD unless I update my SP2 latest download. I went on Microsoft download site and perhaps I'm doing it wrong but none of it will work for me. Anyone can help would be appreciated, on here or E-mail me. I really feel better having an extra computer as backup, and my license is for 3 computers so it's nothing that I'm doing illegally. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong place as there are several "fixes" and some are for techs only. Help! TIA
I do this with Microsoft Word 2000. nm
:
If you are using Internet Explorer (Microsoft) sm

Go up to the top and click on "Tools", then "Internet Options". Click "Clear History". That should do it.

If you set your history to only keep one or two days' worth of info, it will automatically clear itself.

It would be a good idea to click "clear files" on the same screen as well.  You should also click "clear cookies", but that will delete all your passwords and saved information. However, some of those "cookies" can be harmful so you do need to clear them out once in a while.

Microsoft Office 2003
I believe you can get a 30-day demo from the Microsoft website. I did that and then decided I loved it and was able to get a lower priced version from Costco for about $129. It is pretty nice because it comes with Excel, etc. Here is the link:

Hope this helps!
Microsoft Natural 4000

MICROSOFT WORD QUESTION

From time to time I try to add a word into a paragraph and it starts taking out the beginning of the next word so I end up having to type the whole paragraph again.   Today I am trying to change the first word of a normal and it starts taking out the next word.  I cannot type the wole normal again.  I hope you understand what I mean.  Does anyone have a quick fix.  TIA

You might want to wait on getting new one as MIcrosoft is coming out with new OS at the end of
:+
Microsoft 4000 ergonomic one...
Wonderful keyboard! I give it a 9/10.
Microsoft Natural is too stiff for me. sm
I have heard good things about Goldtouch, but never used one. I am impressed with the speed I am getting on the Maxim and comfort of the keyboard. I had problems with finger fatigue, and that is now alleviated. The layout is standard except the home, end, page up, etc. so the keyboard would be smaller. I was used to it by the end of the first day. I paid $119 for mine at Fentek.
In Microsoft Word, there should be a record
of changes made and who accessed the report and made it. SOmeone with more technical expertise should be able to tell you what you do.
You could write to Microsoft or call them. (sm)

they sent me a new keyboard once because my letters wore off, it's worth a try.  Good money spent is worth a try anyway.

How to indent on Microsoft Works
This may seem like a simple question but it has me stumped. I started a new job recently using Microsoft Works. My last job of many years used WP. My question is how to indent. Some doctors use outline format on the diagnoses. Right now, I have to enter and space over because I can't get the next line to scroll the correct margin. I hope I am explaining this correctly!  Hitting tab will indent the first line but then the next lines scroll to the left-hand margin. I have tried everything I can think of and it must be something easy.  I MISS WORD PERFECT!!  Can someone help?  Thanks!
Microsoft 4400 Ergonomic- sm-
I like it alot because of the raised wrist rest (removable), which helps with wrist pain after typing 10 to 12 hours a day. It has been a blessing to me, but getting used to the split keyboard took about a week. Check it out.
Microsoft ergo... Love it
it slowed me down for maybe 3 to 4 days, but now I just love it.My hands never ache anymore... However, I have real trouble using a regular keyboard now on my spare computer, just doesn't feel right now, but since I only ever really just surf the net with that one it doesn't matter.  Really has helped my hands and wrists.
it isn't funny blaming it on Microsoft
Now if you want to talk about not keeping up with upgrades, then you don't know the history of how long it took to get a Windows version of ST on the market. It literally tooks YEARS to get a Windows version out with many MTs having direct contact with J and with J pubically apologizing and promising it was being worked on. I have to defend J. on this one. He passed control of the product over to Williams and Wilkins and that is the company who is responsible for supporting it. Do you really think a company that makes it's money primarily on selling word books and medical software is going to give much attention to this ~small~ ST when it has bigger fish to fry? Especially when all you have to do is utilize a verion of word prior to 2003.

BTW, FYI, it was Microsoft who communicated that it was a change THEY made to Word that caused the incompatibility problem, so anyone connected to ST was blind sided until users began to complain of problems. J. can only do so much. Blame W&W who stands by their history of failing to recognize how their lack of support effects how we are able to perform our jobs, or even accept positions with companies using 2003 because we want to continue using ST!!
Where can I get Microsoft Word 2002? sm

Is there a place on-line where I can purchase it and download it?  If not, where can I get a good deal on it?  I need it ASAP!

Thanks

MICROSOFT WORD/MT WORLD

I recently put installed Microsoft word 2005 in my computer. I use MT world for my job.  Every time I send something after I type to update it sits in updating document for a long time. Has any one else have this problem or have a solution.   No one else in else at the job has this problem but me.

MIcrosoft Natural Ergonomic

Best one I ever had.  It has all the programmable shortcut buttons at the top for programs and/or webpages and is extremely comfortable.  I used to have problems with my hands hurting a lot after a full day of working and now it is gone.  It took about a week for me to get used to the feel of the split board, but now I can't stand using a regular one.  I even take this one when I travel to my in-laws.

Try Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard

Hi, try Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000.  I don't know about the wireless ergo keyboard but I do know they are expensive than the wired ones.  You could contact your local Microsoft hardware dealer.

Microsoft wireless 3000

I've been looking.  I'm working on one now.  I LOVE the touch and it's VERY quiet. I hate clacky. I've worked on ones that I couldn't hear the dictation for the clacking; had to keep stopping and starting, listening while not typing.  ack! anyway, I LOVE the touch and non-sound of this but it isn't split, and I'm having a hard time with that.  I'm gonna keep looking

There's a 4000 too, with a hump in the middle.  It's not quite as quiet and the touch isn't quite as easy.

WordExpander program or use Microsoft XP???

Just starting out and I need to know what type of software works best.  The woman I am working for told me just to use the Microsoft XP, and to use Tools, Autocorrect and then replace.

I have Microsoft Windows XP 2005

Guide to Microsoft Word
I have this book and I think it is well worth its price!!  It gives many short cuts that have helped me immensely in my production.  I actually got this book because I was still using WP5.1 and everyone was using/asking for Word.  I had always fought with Word even after taking a college course in Word.   I ended up using this book to help transfer all my private clients to Word and I think I am back up to, maybe even surpassing, my production rate.  I hope this helps you.
microsoft 4000 keyboard
I have this awsome keyboard too.  But i can't figure out when the cap lock is on until I go to type.  I can't find anything in the tiny book that came with it.  Did anyone get a booklet with theirs explaining the functions on the keyboard?  Thank you so much!
Microsoft Word question

Is there any way to have Word open up  automatically with the view screen at 125% (rather than 100%)?  Right now I have to change it each time I start it up.

Thx for any help.

Microsoft 4000 keyboard

I wanted to share a neat trick I recently figured out that I can do with my Microsoft USB Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 (IntelliType Pro).  I recently posted a query asking if there was a way to turn numbering off and on without using the mouse (which I hate), and I've discovered that there is with this particular keyboard.  To turn the numbering feature on (for a list of current meds, for example), you hold down the Shift key, Ctrl key, and the key to the left of the Ctrl key that is the lower right of your keyboard (the key that looks like it has a picture of a page with an arrow on it).  This brings up a drop-down menu and you can select numbering or bullets from there.  the first time I did this, I discovered it made funky changes to my font, so I had to go in and set the font (by selecting the customize button in the lower right corner on the numbering option), and once I had it all tweaked to the way I wanted it, it appeared to have reset my default to the way to my preference.  I apologize if this is confusing, but if you have this keyboard, and you have any questions about my instructions, feel free to ask, and I'd be glad to try to help!
