At 4 years old, I would not worry too much. My daughter wanted nothing to do with 1st grade, struggled up until 3rd grade, now is in all Honors Classes and has First Honors on every report card. Some kids just develop at their own pace. I thought there was something wrong at first, since she is the 2nd child and my 1st child, a son, was reading and writing in kindergarten. It just depends on the child.

Don't worry so much - she will develop at her pace with a little nudge, she will do fine!

Cheer up - Give her a big hug and here is my HUG for both of you!
