Go back and read. See how many of us here are saying we have been in touch

appears to have multiple problems.....once a man hits you, it's never the only time #1. I have never been hit or cheated on. However, my self-esteem is my #1 priority in my life for the past 15+ years, and I intend keeping it that way.

Yeah, not a ton of information yet - I searched on this forum and found interesting info when what I guess are founding members were gathering information and getting started. It appears they just got the website up in Jan 09 and I also read a post that they said it was 2 years (the group/website) in the making. I think it's worth keeping an eye on, since many have voiced dissatisfaction with AAMT/AHDI and some have voiced hope for a new MT group to form. Now we just have to see who they are and what their next step is. In the meantime, there are still others of us who want to put our heads together. :-)

At my job you would GET FIRED for not adhering to the dangerous abbrevation rules and changing q.d. to daily. I guess it depends on whether a company adheres to the joint commission on hospital policies or not. I know when I applied to a company I transcribed mL instead of cc and was told I made a major error in my test. I was following the AAMT guidelines and it cost me a job. It is a problem that is no standardization in the rules. I wish they would get together and decide on one way of doing things.

It's for a local insurance company. I have a friend who works there, and the service that they used was charging a lot. She knew I was looking for a part-time job to supplement my income (at that time I was working out of the home as a legal secretary). We started out working on it together, and then she stopped and I do all the tapes now. It's good money. I've been doing it for about 7 years.

That was said, VR picked it up and how would a newbie know (brain, confusion, could be in some cases, right) it was contusion they were looking for? I did, changed and finally the physician said the correct word, contusion. I also have the VR putting in Dr. Pannicus and the like. Yep, you need to know what things mean, not just typing in words.

That is when the real pain began. A rhizotomy is where they cut the nerve roots to relieve the pain (anterior) or muscle spasms (posterior). I just had neurectomies, and my head has been worse for the last two months. The neurosurgeon was unable to get left side because my occipital nerve was entangled in the artery, but he got the right. Now I cannot feel the right side of the back of my scalp; however, I am still having a lot of pain! So much for that.

what is an STM? "Something" transcription manager? Are you by chance inundating her with requests or is it that she just does not acknowledge any of your e-mails? I don't think I'd put up with being ignored for too long. I'd seriously consider going over her head or looking elsewhere for work.

when the doctor says dig level in the labs is he meaning digitalis level? my Expander expands dig to digoxin and I never thought to change it. I know digoxin toxicity is dangerous. I have never gotten feed back on this potentially dangerous (?) blooper.
There are also those that pretend to be dumb so they don't have to. sm
And those that call in sick every other day, that if they were really sick that often, they should be in nursing home.
Needless to say, I got out of supervising because I did not want to hate people anymore, and I could be petty like everybody else and get away with it like everybody else.
