sure ... call around and see if you can find anything. Don't worry too much about what you are going to say, just tell whoever you get on the phone you would like to speak to someone in charge of hiring.
I always thought the whole job hunt/interview process was weird anyway. It should be an adult exchange about what each is looking for (not just the employer) and if each is able to meet the other's needs.
The old rule about not bringing up how much it pays and all that stuff is ridiculous. Especially nowadays when the greater percentage of jobs require going in for testing and then multiple interviews. Like anyone wants to spend that kind of time on a job that turns out not to meet their needs anyway!
