It's been so long, I don't even know what they called the things we got our dictation from. They were the blue plastic and slipped onto the transcription machine like a sleeve! We also had the Selectrics and carbon copies. I worked in a hospital and we worked on productivity by the line count. We were required 1,000 lines a day as mininum and anything over that got productivity. I can't even remember how much it was now, but I made tons of money (we are talking 1976). Even with the selectrics and the White-Out, we made much more money. I could double productivity. When we got slow, we could get productivity and go home. Many days, I went in at 7 am and went home by 11. Benefits and retirement were also good. Good ole days, I miss them!
