I really believe it's time for The View to be cancelled. It has denegrated to its' nadir! I cannot see it getting *better* after this week's fiasco. I dislike Star intensely but also Elisabeth and Barbara now and all their phoniness. The only one who has credibility in my opinion is Joy Behar. The show should be cancelled before it gets any worse while they might still all be able to leave with dignity.

Agree completely. I have seen some god-awful things in reports.
Things that are guessed at and sometimes even legitimately looked up and searched for, unfortunately not finding the correct word. I told an MT once, "You can't just type that this patient is on that drug just because it is for the same symptoms. You have to type what the doctor is saying." I couldn't believe it. I have seen some stuff, let me tell you, and 38 cms is the least of it. I had a supervisor ask me once if I was "sure" that ostial was a term used in a cardiac cath and that "osteal" referred to bone. DUH! If I wasn't sure we wouldn't be having this conversation! Then they get clerks to listen. Puuhlease! I'm not even QA and I scratch my head and wonder why people like that are in this business if they aren't in it to do a first-class job. Once I had a team leader route me a report that she had started because she said her "head was stuffy " and she couldn't hear." I couldn't believe the report when I looked at it. Obviously nothing looked up, not even spell checked. My 15-yo could have done a FAR better job. Nobody cares. They are just in it because they think they can still make the "easy money." It's not bad money, but it's not like it used to be. And management thinks we can all be so easily replaced by whoever steps off the bus next. It's very disheartening to me.
I think we could all stand to learn from the Amish and how they are handling this awful, awful sm
tragedy. I read on a website 2 seperate stories of how the Amish are dealing with this. Yes, they are sad, but they believe that they will (and I do too) see their children again and that they are in a much better place. They have reached out to the gunman's family, visiting the killer's wife and children and offering them forgiveness. I also read that they want to "help" the gunman's family monetarily through a Mennonite fund if they need help! The article contrasted the Amish to other school tragedies where lawsuits were filed and death threats were made against the family members of the ones who committed the murders!
They are such graceful, loving people. Different, yet. Weird? In a way. But you have to admit that without electricity or vehicles to get them around, they obviously live a faith that most of us could only wish we had inside of us. I am a Christian. If a madman entered my children's school and killed them, could I offer forgiveness to their family? I doubt it. Could I weep in peace and silence knowing that I would someday see my children again? Maybe. But I would be a wretched mess and everyone around me would KNOW my suffering.
I am learning a great deal about the Amish through this. I used to live near PA where seeing the Amish was a regular occurrence. I thought they were so crazy and weird.....But, it was my own ignorance that made those judgments. They are wonderful, Godly people. I admire them more and more as I continue to read how they are dealing with this awful event!

It's great she was able to lose the weight and now feel so much better about herself. She doesn't have to be like Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and tell that she's had surgery if she doesn't want to. Some people may not want their medical/surgical history public. No need to know whether someone had gastric bypass, hysterecomy, or anything else if they don't want to divulge that info.

According to what I read, Star has *turned off* so many readers with her wedding and weight loss that THEY decided not to renew her contract. I am one of those viewers. I never had an opinion on her one way or the other, but once she started with her crazy wedding I was totally turned off.

USA network on Tues at 10 p.m. Announce their winner next week. More to compete to come later in year. Winner wins a RCA recording contract. Wyonna and Cowboy Troy are hosts. Always special guest. Judges are fun. Idol spin-off but way more entertaining, real,and you know who's out from the week before on the show. No extra show to see the results. Awesome entertainment. Not a huge country fan, but have found these kids very talented.

I definitely will keep you all posted. You should be able to hear a 90-second audition clip tomorrow. The first show will be July 15th and the second July 29th. The first 20 will be narrowed down to 8 and then the winner. This is a lot of fun and I am definitely singing for "All the Girls" I was never one to get up in front of people and talk much less sing. Finally got the courage. THANKS FOR THE VOTES!!

She didn't leave The View of her own free will, her contract wasn't renewed. There's a whole thread farther down about what happened and how it came to be that she was told not to come back after she told everyone a few days earlier than planned that she wasn't returning to the show in the Fall.

I would also like to continue my self-education that I work on daily. I am trying to learn about everything because I want to know everything and understand the entire universe, LOL. :)
I would also like to be able to put everything together in order to do something that gives a LOT of people joy and hope along with personal power. What that something is, I do not know.
This thread is awesome. It really gives insight as to how different we all are. I love seeing that if we all had the freedom to do what we truly wanted to do, we would not choose the same things. It also shows that we certainly would not stop being "productive" if money were not needed or earned. :)

Has anyone been watching Rock Star INXS? Tuesday nights when they perform is great..Im telling you these people have talent. Last night, Ty Taylor sang a Bob Marley song..Woman Dont Cry..I was rocking..I love Bob Marley and have most of his albums..This show is great and has better performers than American Idol, IMHO..plus there is also the added attraction of watching man babes, starting with Dave Navarro (oh..just love his muscles)..

I got my first telescope the other day and have seen the moon. It is too cool!! But, I cannot seem to get any planets in my view. I have googled like crazy using the brand and number of the scope, but still nothing. Does anyone have some advice on where to go? I have several astronomy sites on my favorites list, but none can help me so far. TIA

Yvonne got "voted off the island" this time - she was always cooking ethnic and hispanic foods that were good, but she copped an attitude when she got voted off. I made it to the top 20 in the local Zanesville, OH competition similar to American Idol. PLEASE HELP A FELLOW MT!!! You can go online and vote tomorrow for me. PLEASE!! go to www.whiznews.com or www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com and cast your vote. You should be able to hear me sing for about 90 seconds. The public vote is only a portion of the scoring. ABC did not renew Star's contract....sm
ABC did not want to renew Star's contract this coming August-September. She knew that before the announcement that Rosie would be replacing Meredith. I, for one, am ecstatic that Star is leaving The View. Barbara Walters knew all about it prior - it's all over the web news. They all are so annoying except Joy Behar. Her annoying ways are part of her stand-up but I believe that Joy Behar is the most open-minded one on the show and I wish they'd dump Elisabeth. I watch so much less now that Meredith is gone (and I didn't like Meredith the first years either but grew to like her the best).
Oh well, we ALL can agree to disagree!

I did a search on this company and yep, they are from India with satellite offices in New York and CA. I took a gander at their pricing - holy smokes! $10-12 an hour for audio transcription of police interviews, multi-speaker conferences etc?!!!???!!? That is insane! Who in their right mind would send this company verbatim work or work of a sensitive nature when they can't even command the English language! Time to give India the boot!

i am a big fan of CR, awesome job, awesome voice, and TV does him no justice compared to in person. i think CY is good too but doesn't show as much versatility as CR does. what went wrong last night with MM gone and NJ still being there? i am not a fan of the deep, deep voice but i know lots are and he is a much better singer than the female left.
who do you think will win? i was thinking CY til last night and now i am not sure. I think it will be extremely close between CY and CR, can there be a tie??

Star Jones was supposed to announce her....
As of yesterday and Star's blurting out her plans prematurely on the show yesterday and the fact she had gone to People Magazine prior to yesterday's show and the fact that she set up a show on Larry King tomorrow night (she set that up yesterday), ABC has now told Star Jones Reynolds to LEAVE now and not return to the show today. Watch The View today and see what happens!
