I also use Outlook 2003 with Office, but

your email comes through your ISP into outlook, and your ISP has a storage quota. unless you *save* your emails to your hard drive, mine...two 80GB hard drives, they are not stored on your computer. If you keep them in your email files, your email storage has a quota. by the wording of her email, it sounds like she DID save these files to her hard drive, and that was why it took her so long to find them, put them in email, and return them.

yes. outlook 2003 has a sent folder also, but--sm
it is all added in to the quota email set by ISP. sent folder, inbox folder, local folder whatever, it is all a part of the ISP quota for email capacity. I use Time Warner Cable Roadrunner and even with biz class, capacity for email storage, sent, inbox, etc. is 256mb. that is all I am saying about this. I don't want to start a flaming argument..
Outlook express 2003 email problem

I have a large email in my outbox that will not transmit and I cannot cancel it. It contains pictures from my digital camera.

Embarq could not help, Microsoft wants $49.00 up front to help.

Has anyone had a similar problem and know how to fix it?

Thank you.

Yes, I lost mine. I upgraded the Office 2000 package to Office 2003. sm
I have over 2000 autocorrect entries and lost them all as well as my supplemental dictionary for my Stedman's spellcheck. Lots of grief!

Maybe you will be lucky and not lose anything. Good luck to you.
Office 2003 so far, but going to Office 2007 as soon as I can. nm

Office 2003--sm
I like it better than 2000. The only thing I have noticed with it though, although it was true of ALL versions of Word, was that when using it as primary for word processing and using auto correct for expansions, it seems like the capitalization after a period tends to erode after a while and sometimes it won't do it, particularly with the most used letters, like T, R, S, etc. but like I said, ALL the Word programs I have used have done this over time.

Microsoft Office 2003
I believe you can get a 30-day demo from the Microsoft website. I did that and then decided I loved it and was able to get a lower priced version from Costco for about $129. It is pretty nice because it comes with Excel, etc. Here is the link:

Hope this helps!
I purchased Office 2003 at Amazon.com.

Office 2003 versus 2007

Hi,

I am still working in Office 2003 but have been considering Office 2007.  Is anyone using this?  Do you like it?  Do you know if programs like Shorthand, Abacus, and other transcription programs work with it?  Is it possible to have Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same computer without interfering with the one another??

I bought MS Office 2003 online...
The company I recently started with only uses Word 2003.  I bought a new version of Office 2003 online.  I can't connect with the site I bought it from (bargainfire.com), but if you dig deep enough on a Google search you will find something.  I remember it took me a while.  Good luck!
I use SmarType with Microsoft Office with Word 2003
I have had this problem and have even lost documents and was told by Microsoft that this is a Microsoft bug that they have no fix for. I called them and e-mailed and they said they are working on a fix. Can't give me a solution and no time frame of when they will have a patch.
My Stedmans spellcheck disappeared with SP 2 for Office 2003!

An update from Microsoft of SP 2 for Office 2003, a reboot and now when I open Word my Stedmans spellcheck doesn't work.   I tried to reload it and that doesn't work, either.   Anyone else have this happen?  I looked and it's in "Proof" for dictionaries as LEXB4SP, but it's not loading up and replacing the Word spellcheck.   Now what do I do?

I have Vista and am running Office 2003 on it just fine.
I haven't used Word 2007 even though I have it, just because I haven't been able to buy Stedman's for Word 2007 yet.
I use Vista with Office 2003 Student/Teacher edition. nm

Does anyone know how to put Outlook Express emails over to Outlook so they can be backed up to CD?
nm
Yes, Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express are different programs
One of my jobs required me to switch from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook. It took a little while to get used to, but now I love it. If I keep Outlook open but minimized, new emails pop up on my desktop (you can set how long it stays there) so I know if it is important, like a new voice file, or just spam or something that can wait until later. You can even reply to the email from your desktop without ever opening Outlook. Pretty cool.
I'm using Outlook and Outlook Express and I've realized
that Outlook (my personal email account through comcast) is not pulling email from server. I can't even get to the Comcast homepage to try to get my email that way. However, my Outlook Express is set up just for my work email... different server, different ports. That's working just fine. Comcast has been changing ports in recent months, and I bet they did something that messed everything up. I hate to go to the techs there. They'll want me to change settings, and then I'll have a mess on my end, too.

Grrrrr. I just want my email and want to be able to get to some key websites that I use. Other websites are completely trouble-free, though. I've never seen this happen before.
It wouldn't load with my Office. Somehow it wouldn't "read" my 2003 Basic, although sm
technical couldn't find anything wrong with my software. They really tried hard. I see so many people that like Escription, I'm sorry not to be able to use it. Hopefully I can get Office Pro on my next machine, and maybe use it then. I could upgrade, but I'm still not sure it would work.
Changing Excel 2003 Addresses Into Word 2003 Addresses

Hello !

I have a large amount of addresses listed on an Excel 2003 spreadsheet.  I need these addresses for Word 2003 letters.  I end up copying the address from Excel and pasting it into Word, but as you can imagine, the pasted address is in a straight line and I end up having to type the address so it displays correctly for a letter.  Does anyone know if there is a simple way to change the Excel address format to a Word letter address format?  Thank you for your help.

You have to set up Outlook to do what you think I don't know what
Some versions of Outlook do not have this feature. Mine does. It is located under advanced mail options, tracking. Please do not assume others don't know what they are talking about unless you wrote the program.
Outlook will can this.
Use the calendar option to record your upcoming appointments, etc. With the folders window open, click on Personal Folders and it will show all your appointments for the week as well as tasks and the number of unread email messages. I believe you can change the default either in options or by just closing Outlook with the Personal Folders view and it will reopen in that view. This works VERY well for me!
I don't know about outlook, but on my ISP

I have filters that I can set so that if I get an e-mail with "Viagra" in the subject line it will automatically be deleted.  Then they started sending e-mails with odd spellings.  I also block senders.  Usually they only send once from a particular e-mail address so you won't get another one from that address, though occasionally you will.

There is a program called MailWasher Pro that is pretty good.  I used it as a trial, don't know if they have a free version.

Job Outlook?
I worked for Focus Infomatics based in Woburn, MA. Started with them after MT school. They were good, but I was getting paychecks for literally $8.00 because there was NO work. I worked on accounts like MD Anderson Cancer Center...and no work. I switched to Medquist last September and now may find myself without a job because everything seems to be going to India. I checked out Spheris today and they have their corporate HQ in Franklin, TN, but they have 3 HQs in India as well. Not sure if the Americans will eventually lose the work. They are hiring from their website ad today, but not sure if I want to be burned for a third time. Good luck!
Have most people had good luck with their MQ office closing and moving to the regional office. Have
things gotten better or worse for you.
Might be able to rent one from an office supply or office machine repair shop

What a SICK outlook! Why would she need to...

"suck up," as you so graciously put it???  She likes the software.  She said so.  Why would you think you are in a position to judge HER?????

Perhaps you have done some sucking up yourself, so you are thinking EVERYONE is not sincere with a compliment????  Not everyone is as transparent as you are.    Do you feel better when you slam someone when you think they might be exhibiting a trait you possess???  Counseling may help you.

Outlook Express does.
nm
Outlook question. Not sure what
version this is, but it's not express.  When I write a long email, I like it in letter form with paragraphs and double spaced between paragraphs.  However, when I actually send it, it arrives looking, well, "chopped up", not in the paragraphs I inserted.  All the text is there, but it looks wrong.  Anyone know how to fix this?  TIA
Outlook E-mail
Hi.  If you go to Yahoo and go into the main mail screen there.  You should be able to click on "options."  Next look for POP mail.  Here they should give you step by step instructions on how to set it up.  It has been a while, but this is how I set mine up.  I hope this helps.  Good luck!!!
Has the job outlook improved any?

Hey, all.  I have been out of touch for a few months, getting some personal stuff out of the way, and have not been keeping up with the job market.  Now that I am ready to start looking again, I was curious about how the conditions are right now.  I was just wondering if it had improved any since, say January?  Is the economy starting to come back as it pertains to MT'ing?

Thanks in advance.

My Norton or my Outlook Express? (sm)
For some reason, for the last 2 or 3 days, when I am sending an email, that little Norton box that pops up is taking a long time to appear, like maybe about 15 seconds or so.  It used to be as soon as I hit "send."  Is this a problem with my email or my Norton? and is it a big deal?  Just wondering why the change.  Thanks
How do I get Outlook Express to put up Yahoo

I would like to know what how to set up my Outlook Express to received email from my Yahoo email address so that I can download multiple attachments at once instead of clicking on each individual attachment.  Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

KC

I just use Outlook Express, so my emails - sm
our stored on my computer (40GB), so in my case it is not an issue. If the OP sends her emails the same, then she can easily save the work emails unless she has a very old computer with no substantial hard drive.
Yes, I understand all that, but in Outlook Express - sm
you have a sent folder. After you send an email it goes into the SENT folder in your "Local Folder". I explained how she can find the emails she sent (if she uses this method)--by clicking on the "To" tab at the top the emails sort by who they were sent to, makes it real easy to find what you were looking for for that particular person--even if she has to send them one at at time (and group them by Shift-arrow; hit forward and send them to MTSO) it would simplify things for her; and there is no "quota" except for what your computer can hold. --I have all my email (minus junk of course) from 2002 without any issues--sent and received. She may not know that she can just hit the "to" tab and have it group all the emails she had sent to that person-- you can also group by subject, date, etc.
Yahoo/Outlook Express
If I understand correctly, you have a Yahoo account and an Outlook Express account set up.  The reason I am asking is I have Outlook Express, and it was suggested to me that I switch to Yahoo as there are some functions that I cannot do in Outlook Express.  I have not switched over to Yahoo yet as I am not sure about the storage space, download/upload storage, etc. is on both to compare.  If you have any further information that could help me in deciding, I hope you will share with me.  TAA
Do you use Outlook Express for your email?

If so, go to "Tools", then "Options", then click the "Connection" tab.  Then click the "Change" button so you can view your current settings and correct them if necessary.

Good luck!

I love your outlook, Brandi..

Thanks, you made my day.

e-mail and outlook - comcast
You should be able to do exactly what you are saying.  I don't know the exact steps, but you should be able to use outlook as I do this and have atlantic broadband as an ISP.  I don't like using the ISP home page, I prefer Outlook...  it should work.
Open Outlook and type in the address box: sm.
mail.medquistmail.com and press Go or Enter.  Anyway, it will take you to the correct page.  If you have signed up for Imail, you should have problem; however, there is a tutorial available through QNet.  It has been slow going, but I hopeful that they will increase the response time.  I have been able to send and receive messages with no problem, just slow, which is extremely frustrating.  As well, I have been able to send messages to various people at MedQuist via Outlook.  Hope this helps.
I thought I was the only one who used Outlook for personal reasons.

In outlook express you can ask for one. that doesn't mean the recipent sm
well check the box to send a receipt. I never do, and resent them tremendously.
Outlook express problem solved - sm

Had a problem deleting a huge outgoing email. Posted here and many good suggestions came in. However, when I Googled I found www.ITtoolbox, a place to go for technical help.

I was able to finally delete that pesky outgoing email of mine with their help. You may want to keep this site in mind for help if ever you need to.

Thank you all.

Outlook Encryption satisfies HIPAA

(Disclaimer: this is posted by Vann Joe, the publisher of MPWord, MPLite, and MPTools.)

Yes, the encryption built into Outlook would comply with HIPAA.

I note a user has suggested MPLite ($54). If you want to continue working in MS Word, adding MPLite to your work environment will save you much time both in generating the documents and in invoicing. http://www.mpword.com/7mplite.htm

MPWord adds these functions to what you get in MPLite: medical spell check, abbreviation expansion, encryption, zip, unzip, email, fax, ftp.

All our software is available for download and trial. You see, we don't want anyone's money, till you try the software out, finds it meets your needs, and absolutely love the time it saves you.

Can anyone suggest an office in MQ that is not run like this Amherst office. They are absolutely
pathetic. I wonder how many other MTs are in that office in the same situation.
Just DQS from my office was transferred and the rest are getting on DQS before the office closes.
