Windex or rubbing alcohol on glass :)

Similar problem-rubbing alcohol mark..nm/TIA!

What's up with the alcohol?
What's up with the parents thinking it is okay for their kids to not only drink, but get plain drunk? I see this everywhere I look--scary. My neighbor's son just turned 17 and is smoking and drinking and his mom is like, oh well. The other night as he was leaving with some friends she yelled, make sure you get a DD (designated driver). Now isn't she a responsible mom? Crazy if you ask me. She'll be the one crying when something happens. Hmph.
But you might want to have some alcohol
to wash out some of the toxins from the coffee and diet soda! Red wine has flavinoids, which are an antioxidant! LOL!
alcohol was illegal once too
Alcohol was illegal at one time too..Marijuana should be legalized, there is no reason not to legalize it.  It will be legalized one day soon, Im sure.  It is less harmful than alcohol.
Because, as a Christian, alcohol was not an

option for me.

50/50 alcohol/vinegar
Works for me!
LOL There is alcohol involved in that
message. Lucky girl.
oh ok - and legalized alcohol drinking....N/M

Milk, Cream and Alcohol...
Oh, that's too funny with the doc prescribing a cycle of beer! There's an old blues song with the lyrics "Your doctor put you on milk, cream and alcohol." Maybe it's the same doc!
I use an alcohol prep pad to clean the dirt off &
the corner of the packet it comes in I slide between the keys all around and I get these big dust bunnies that I just pull out with my fingers.  I also turn it upside down and shake it once in a while too.
clean the heads with an alcohol prep, if
you have one, or take out the ink jet cartridge and using a gentle wrist motion, turn it up and down a few times and replace.
cover with thiamine and (s/l) serafellon for alcohol abuse

Got no help on word board.  Running out of time.

Thanks in advance

Once a week, I clean my headset ears with alcohol.
Then swab out my ears after showering with Q-tips with alcohol on them. Keeps the itching down to nothing, and the ear wax doesn't build up that way, either.
except I love cooking w/alcohol/wine in sauces!!
.
Absolutely no alcohol. Coffee, water or diet soda.
/
I keep alcohol pads at my desk to clean the sponges on the earphones.
That takes away the itching and keeps the bacteria away!!

Clear as a bell, ptosis? He has a history of ptosis from alcohol poisoning

Didn't read all the posts below about rubbing
alcohol, so forgive me if someone mentioned it, but there is also wintergreen alcohol!
I am not a smoker, never have been
TO YOU!!! GOOD LUCK!!! I'm sure this is a decision you will LIVE TO NOT REGRET!  I'll be thinking about ya and praying for ya!!! Way to go!!!  THREE CHEERS TO QUITTERS!!!
Smoker
Is it okay to email you? Maybe we can help each other. This is harder than I thought it would be. I'm doing the cold turkey bit, as I was advised to do so.

Grrrrr.....what's that old saying about biting 10-penny nails? I could do it, I tell ya! And, my brother told me all he wanted to do was sleep, sleep, sleep when he quit and I cannot sleep to save my life. I know that doesn't make sense, as nicotine is a stimulant.......just need someone to talk to during these rough days, I guess.
Former smoker
I quit a few years ago.  I won't lie, it was hard, but the wonderful feeling of becoming a nonsmoker is worth it.  It made me feel so good about myself and was the best thing I've ever done for.  At the time my son was a preteenager and I wanted to be an example for him.  There are more tools/groups available now than when I quit.  I contacted the Cancer Society, Lung Associatian and had them send me literature to refer to and reinforce my goal when I was feeling weak.  I also used the gum which helped.  The first time I quit unsuccessfully I was using the gum incorrectly, and really wasn't that motivated anyway.  I like our local nonsmoking phrase, "Never quit quitting."  Like myself, it takes some people more than one try at quitting, but that doesn't mean you have to give up or be too hard on yoursef.  Eventually you will succeed.
Was a smoker, but....
I quit because I am pregnant. I do think I will not go back to smoking after the baby is born though.
Ha! I had a 2 yo smoker last night too..LOL

This doc dictated

This 52-year-old male with a 50-year smoking history.  Okay, I thought he was saying 15, I listened over and over, I had someone else listen too and he was saying 50!  I guess dude started puffing at 2 years of age!

OK, if you'll admit to it. Are you a smoker? sm
................and if you quit, how did you do it?
Yes, I'm a smoker. Have tried to quit a couple of times but can sm
never seem to get it done.  Would love some to hear success stories and how people have quit.  HELP!
DH will be putting baby back ribs in the smoker,
grandma's potato salad, corn on the bbq, and MARGARITA'S!!
Quit before I got married. Fiance told me "no way would I marry a smoker," and I was smitten.
Marlboro Reds. I smoked all throughout high school and college before that. Was highly addicted. Had to go for a smoke break between classes.

It's been 10+ years since quitting. Cold turkey. Don't want it, don't want to smell it, won't eat at a restaurant that allows smoking. Fortunately (sorry smokers) in GA, all restaurants are smoke-free now. I like it that way. Can enjoy food better.

BUT, I have a completely different problem that is probably killing me - I'm addicted to sugar and carbs. Highly. Wake up craving it. 40+ pounds overweight. Hate every minute of it. No matter how hard I try, I absolutely cannot stop eating the "white, starchy" stuff. So, the cigarettes may not kill me now, but food might. Sad.
I type for cardio docs. EVERY patient has been a smoker or continues to smoke. Hope you'll quit

Equipment
We currently use the Audioworxs system and have it hosted by Gacela Group for our tech support. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions about the system. For more information you might check out the website at www.gacelagroup.com.

Equipment
My doc wanted to go digital so I had him purchase the equipment. If you purchase you are responsible for repairs and such.
IC DO pay for their own equipment, etc.
Poster doesn't say what the situation is but you're wrong to state that you don't pay for your tools to do work--I'm an IC and it's my responsibility to have what I need to do the work.
Example of EMR equipment - what do you think? sm

Does anyone have a doctor who is already using something like this:  http://www.mdtablet.com/demo.asp

I have such mixed feelings about this (EMR).  On one hand, I think the technology is awesome, and I think it makes so much of sense to have our medical info. available electronically (pretty much immediately) instead of a doctor having to request a hard copy and wait for it to be mailed or whatever (like when you change PCP doctors or go to a specialist or whatever).

On the other hand, is every doctor going to be running around with one of these handheld devices in his/her pocket, with all this medical info. on people?  What if they lose it?  How secure and accurate is the info. really?  And of course I won't even go into the effect EMR will have on our jobs as MTs.

BTW, I saw this "MD Tablet" thing in the background when I was watching a story on Nightline.  The story was about how the super rich in America are pretty much oblivious to the state of the economy, and still carry on with their usual lifestyle, spending money lavishly.  No cutbacks for them to worry about.  The one rich guy they were showing is involved in this MD Tablet product. Ever feel like, as MTs, we are sooo on the wrong side of things?  LOL

equipment
Because QAs often have a better equipment.
Not because they know more, they HEAR it better. But not all of them.
The core problem in this profession are crappy dictations and not maintaining their equipment by doctors.
Then why don't you just buy better equipment???nm

Regarding better equipment
Even without better equipment, often when they start listening to your blanks they will be plain as day.

If I have a blank toward the beginning of my report and go back to listen after finishing the report, I will many times understand it as well. There is something about hearing it out of context that makes it understandable.

This isn't always the case, (obviously sometimes it's just plain not understandable), but it happens more than you think.
Equipment
What companies provide equipment?
To all MTs, keep your equipment sm
current, same with software, keep up on today's transcription standards, don't end up like this person above who has stayed comfortable all these years and suddenly needs to find a job.
Help on equipment board please. nm
NM
There is no equipment involved.
I use my own computer. I don't use any of their stuff.
Lightning and Equipment
Had a bolt of lightning melt the components in my Dictaphone several years' ago. Had it plugged into an expensive surge protector. Dictaphone rep said I was very lucky I did not have the headphones on when it struck. Also told me if lightning strikes close enough, no surge protector can handle it.
does anyone have backup equipment?

I have a second computer available, but I'm seriously considering getting a second Dictatphone system. I've already had headsets and foot pedals go on me.

Anyone else?

Back-up equipment
I have a back-up laptop, just in case.  Good thing, too.  Just a couple of months after I got laptop, PC had to go to the shop, lol.  I don't use a call-in system but if I did, I would probably get back-up. I figure if you have the back-up stuff, just in case, you will usually never need it.  If you don't have it, you will wish you did.
Equipment For Lease
Hi! I would be doing part time transcription for two months and would need micro casette transcriber. Does anybody know if there is any company that lease transcription equipment. Thanks in advance.
Lease Equipment
Part-Timer.

Do you need a cassette transcriber. I bought one from ebay that works great. Think it was about $80.00 and never used it. Will sell it to you for the same. Or you can try EBAY.
