The facilities in my area (California) have all been switching over to EMR with VR and no need for transcriptionists anymore. Every facility I have wanted to work for has switched over! My thoughts are that maybe we were switched over sooner because of the stress on the hospitals because of illegals. There are no facilities to work for around here anymore so I'll be out of this field in the next year. The pay is getting lower and lower with nationals and I won't be able to afford it unless I want to sit at the desk 16 hours a day making a low line rate.
