you put up with it for so long! There are so many good MTs out there looking for work.

Unless contract states otherwise, I would give them 30 days to clean up their work. You will be able to get an idea after a couple of weeks although I doubt that there will be improvement if they've been at it for five years!

Meanwhile, I would put an ad out for new transcriptionist. There are many good, dedictated MTs out there who know their craft.
