I do know that just a few years ago I used to get paid a much higher rate than I do now. The place I worked for went with voice recognition. I made pretty good money without working too awfully hard. When I really buckled down I good roll the money in and in a hurry. Now I am working much, much harder and getting paid a whole lot less than I did back then. Just doesn't add up anyway you look at it. Yes, I will probably hang in there and keep at it. But, if I knew all that I had to go through and how things would gradually get worse and worse, I'm sure I would have never bothered to put so much time into it. I always keep another non-MT job or two at the same time though. I can't make enough on MT and besides I feel I need the security of another job just in case. It has come in handy when I needed extra hours because MT work was caught up, technical problems, yada, yada. I like to look at MT as extra money and not dependable money.
