I see this same thing posted all over the place and I just don't  understand why anyone cannot make a living from doing this job.  I have been a MT for 14+ years and I make dang good money.  I have two accounts....one a 270-bed acute care hospital that pays me .11 cpl on a 60-character line and even provides health insurance (free for me, 110.00 a month for family).  I also do IC work for a brain and spine trauma clinic that pay me .13 cpl on a 65 character line.  I get paid biweekly from both (alternating weeks which means I have a check coming in every week) and I easily make 800-900+ a week.  I live in Missouri and I don't understand why anyone could not make it on this pay.  Maybe living within your means would be a good start.  I just get tired of hearing how transcriptionists are underpaid and everything bad about it.  I love it.  The sky is the limit for what I can make, I just need the discipline to sit my butt down and work more if I want more.  One girl who works for the same hospital I do puts in about 10-12 hours a day and pulls in between 4000-5000 a month.  I don't know about you all, but that is definitely not poverty level pay.  Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.
