I get that often

Trust me, you do not want this to flare up on you or you will lose use of your hands as I did about 10 years ago. Picking up a tissue was a major task filled with pain. I had a battery of tests and scans done, yet they found nothing wrong with me. Even the anti-inflammatories they put me on didn't help. I found my own solution buying different hand braces. The best one had a stiff thumb sleeve, but I couldn't wear it while working.
Currently my thumbs only cramp up and ache now when I work excessive hours on the weekends. One twinge of pain is my sign to get away from the computer and wear my braces. Soaking my hands in warm water helps too, but the only thing that really helps me is to wear the braces and not work.

I can't seem to find the brace I used to have. The ones I come across online now are bulky, although this thing looks like it could be worn while working: http://www.physioroom.com/product/ProCare_POL_AX_1_Thumb_Wrap/2035/38241.html

I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem too.

Good luck with your thumbs.
