laptop desk, the kind that is hard on one side and the other side is kind of like a pillow (mine actually seems to have something more like straw in it, but not exactly). I used Velcro to put the keyboard on the hard side. I never could get used to using the keyboard in my lap and bought an alternative device, but out of all the ways I tried to make it work, this was the best that I came up with. I still do have the keyboard that came with my computer set up that way as a back up, just in case I have to use it. One of the problems I was having with other methods was bouncing of the keyboard, which I did not have with this setup.
