unfortunately the only way I can avoid this is to proof read EVERYTHING. I type quite fast, so I think that when I miss words it's because I'm "flying" a little too high. I'd love to hear advice from other people too, as proofing everything is not always the most efficient process. Thankfully, because I do type so fast and have a lot of shortcuts (another thing that helps me not miss words...lots of phrases in my IT), I can still make okay money without sacrificing quality. However, I'd love to someday make GOOD money and still keep up my quality.
