I have this to add sm

When I first started out as an MT I had this a lot more than I do now. I have noted that over my 12 yrs in as an MT the number of days per week or month that I am a fumble fingers has decreased dramatically. I still have the odd day every 3 or 4 months when I am struggling to type coherent sentences. When I am like this, I go BARMEY.

I have found that taking a break, a few deep breaths, going to the ladies' and having a warm, pleasant drink will often recenter me. When I sit back down, I start out slowly and think about every letter, then pretty soon I am sailing again.

I do think this is a matter of experience for some of us. My dirty secret is that I am a horrible typist, truly. My best speed ever was only about 81 wpm with no errors! I am Expander dependent and frankly, that is where my typing skill is...in my brain with my expansions that flow from my fingers effortlessly. I don't even know where the keys for given letters are anymore (this is good because they are worn off of any new keyboard within a month).
