I just ordered a Dell off the website on credit and was approved!!! Yay! Man, I love the web!

Posted By: SadMT on 2006-02-05
In Reply to: I bought a dell computer and financed it at their site - for only 24 dollars/month. NM

It will be delivered by the end of the week!  I'm back in business and not so limited on options.  Thanks again for the advice!

foot pedal connection. Does it have pins (metal rods),if so how many, 9 or 15? There are both 9-pin and 15-pin foot pedals. If it is rectangular and slides into a rectangular slot it is USB type connection. If it is not a USB that is where you may have an issue, you would either need an adapter that works (and as I said I could not get it to work but you may not have a problem), or the right port, if a 9 or a 15 you will need that on the back of the computer. There is a 15-pin on mine but it is for the monitor. So obviously you would need 2 of these if you used a 15-pin. But you most likely either use a 9-pin or a USB type foot pedal. If you have any doubts as to what you use get on line and look at pictures of what each looks like, or ask someone you know who would be able to help you with this. I have heard too much bad about Vista. My brother is an engineer and programs building systems, etc. he told us to avoid Vista (which I am), plus it does not work with a lot of programs so until I have to upgrade, I won't, I plan to stay with XP for now.
Ordered a Dell with XP Sunday night, arrived here Wed morning!
This is my 3rd Dell computer over the years.  My current one is more than 5 years old and is just getting a little slow and outdated, so my hubby the computer guru suggested I get a new one before you can no longer find XP.  He is still getting it set up for me (I am pretty picky!).  Been VERY happy with Dell.  Never had a single problem with their computers.  My current computer still has lots of life in it, so he is going to use it as a backup for his laptop.  BTW, we went right to the Dell website and ordered.  Good luck to you!
Yeah I went onto the website and just ordered a Belkin adapter. It's worth a shot at this point.
I'll let you know if it works at all when I get it.
i give credit to all who love ops cuz i cant stand them. i like cardiology

I love my Dell notebook (sm)
When I bought my Dell notebook I had the same concerns, so I purchased a "docking station."  I don't think that's the correct term.  But the notebook hooks onto it and then I can easily adjust the height of the screen.  I can also plug into that my ergonomic keyboard, foot pedal, etc.  Love it!
I have a Dell and love it. No problems at all.

I love my DELL keyboard...nm

I LOVE THIS WEBSITE sm
I love reading the good, bad and just ugly. It really helps when trying to make a decision about different companies, etc. Plus I think it is good that the bad and ugly be exposed. Maybe they will clean up their acts.

These services/companies are making a fortune off of those who work at home, providing everything ourselves, i.e. office space, computer, high speed internet, unlimited long distance, desk, chair, etc. To get an offer of anything less than 10 cpm is ridiculous and I hope no one takes any of those jobs!

bye bye
keep postin!

Has anyone used a credit counseling service to consolidate credit cards?
What was your experience?  Was it worth it?  Which ones are credible?
I love this idea! I'm in the planning stages of a website... SM

and would love to sell this T-shirts on my website at some point in the future.

I have a friend who is in medical billing, got her coding certification, but can't get a job without actual work experience as a coder.  So we've brainstormed and thought we might go into business together.  Create a company that offers medical billing and medical transcription and eventually coding services to private practices, hospitals, etc.

I'm also toying with the idea of incorporating some sort of online MT mentoring/education program into the new business venture.

But like I said we are in the planning and brainstorming stages and when I read about this T-shirt idea, I thought it would be a fabulous addition to the website.  Because one thing is very certain our business venture will stand firmly against offshoring.

I have both a Dell Latitude Laptop and a Dell Dimension desk top PC and bought both...
off of Ebay.  The laptop I paid $300 for had Windows XP and works great.  It wasn't wireless, but they sent me a PCI card with it and it works fine.  The desktop PC has XP on it as well and I paid $250 for it.  Both have Pentium IVs.  Both work great for work.  I have no complaints and I feel like I got a great deal both times out on Ebay.
If It's Approved, It's Here

http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/drugsatfda/index.cfm

This is the FDA site: you only need three letters at a time to pull up everything that includes them.

Was this approved by your supervisor or is this your own account?
If you pull reports out of sequence without your supervisors knowledge, you are cherry picking and it is wrong.  If, however, you have approval or you run your own business, it's still cherry picking but the dynamics surrounding it have changed.
The big 3 are the first three AAMT approved schools. SM
These are: M-TEC, Andrews and Career Step (in chronological order of approval). Your daughter will not go wrong with any of the 3. I suggest that she visit the schools' website. She can register and post questions at both the Career Step and M-Tec forums, but the Andrews forum is for its students only.
Go with an AAMT-approved school.
You will get a quality education and have no problems finding a job upon graduation. I had three job offers within a week of graduating and had a choice of where I wanted to work.
Company provides a Dell for work, I have a Dell for personal use, too.

Dell customer service is overseas. I have had a Dell, a
Toshiba Satellite, and an HP.   The Dell was a piece of junk from day 1.  The HP hard drive crashed after 4 to 5 years, but otherwise no problems.   I bought a Toshiba about 6 months ago and it is okay, nothing special.  I was looking at the Sony Viao and the salesman said that some laptops are made to be portable, but that the Sony was not one of them, but the Toshiba was.   My keyboard also has a numerical pad on it, but it throws the other keys off a bit, so when I'm in a portable mode and don't have room for an external keyboard it really slows me down.  I have a Duo Core processor and notice no difference whatsoever in speed, the number of programs I can have open, etc.   I have also noticed that even when I am not on battery power that every so often the battery is charging.  I don't know if this is a defect or something that is supposed to happen, but I need to investigate it.
I've had two dell laptops and 5 Dell PCs. Here's the thing...

Make sure you get the extended warranty, again, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. And, here is why.

My first laptop went out on my, though it was a couple of years old.  Because I had the extended warranty, a service tech came to my house, replaced motherboard, hard drive, heat sink, and keyboard.  He was able to back up everything first and restored it once all the new stuff was in place.

One of my PCs kept giving some weird blue screen error and I couldn't get to go even in safe mode. I called up Dell, told them the problem, they looked up my extended warranty and they sent someone out to repair it.

Overall, I have been happy with Dell products.  The only drag is that everything Dell sells regarding accessories is proprietary and you have to order it through Dell.  No generic accessories will work.  My suggestion is if you decide to buy a Dell laptop, make sure you get the car power supply and you might even get a 2nd regular power supply because I have been known to leave town and forget the power supply at the house.  Now, I have everything in my laptop bag for when I go out of town and can just throw my laptop in the bag and know everything is there.

Lastly, some Dell laptops require a special aircard to connect to the internet.  I ended up getting a 2 cabled USB air card and I'm glad I did because 2 USB plug ins give better reception than one.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. I'm happy to help.

Looks to me like this is the current policy, approved 10/2004, and

Unfortuntely, if you are young, a lot of times you DO have to be approved or (sm)
at least fight with them to pay it because of family history.  This whole insurance business is such a racket.
Best recommendation is chooosing an AAMT/AHDI approved course

No, but with an expander you can just set your expansions to the approved versions for that account.

CREDIT, everyone is living on credit, and from what I see
with a rather, 'might as well, we have no future' kind of attitude.

our credit cards are maxed out, we are buying gas, food (which I swore I would never do, how stupid - all that interest for food, yuck!), paying bills, and we would not have survived without them. now they are maxed out, and we are not making one bit more than we were.

glad things must be going so well for you, but look around in your own neighborhood.

the gap is closing between rich and poor. like it is in somalia, for example.

call us doomsdayers, but I call it protecting our own interests.

why is it the only people who are supposed to care about themselves are the rich?
I don't like Dell. I bought a Dell laptop and it

was a piece of junk, so I'm not the one to ask if you should buy a Dell.   I'd get at least double that processor speed.  My computer is about 10 months old and I have 5 times that, which means that there is probably something faster out now, or soon will be.  It is more than I need for work, but I also use computer to download music/pictures, and a bunch of other stuff.   The Dell I had had 650 mHz and it was slow and that was almost 6 years ago.   You may have to customize anyway to get XP unless you buy one previously owned, which you can also buy from Dell.   It is always a good idea to buy bigger than you need currently just to allow for updates to any software or new software you may add.    You need to also think about tech support.  I know Dell has tech support in India, which can be extremely frustrating.  I don't know that other computer companies don't offshore their tech support, but that would be a question I would ask and find out if there is a locally authorized dealer to handle warranty repairs or if you need to send off the computer.    I would not recommend a Gateway computer and I would not recommend any computer that has a Celeron processor.   They tend to be in all the lower end computers.

Buy a Dell!! You can't go wrong with a Dell but
I bought an Emachines and had trouble with it from day one. I returned it, as the store I bought it from a six month return policy, so I returned it after about five months. I bought a Dell two years ago and have had no problems since!! Buy a Dell, you won't be sorry!! :)
I am not a Dell lover. My Dell has been
a lemon.  I just replaced mine with a Toshiba Satellite and I have seen a few others here recommend this.  Dell's customer service is in India.   The only thing I dislike about my Toshiba is that because it also has a number keypad the shift key is in a different position than I'm used to and I end up deleting and retyping when I use the laptop keyboard.  I normally use an external keyboard, but I travel a lot and try to work on the road and just don't have space for an external keyboard.
Where did you hear that everything you buy for a Dell has to be from Dell?

I have LOTS of peripherals on both my laptop and desktop Dells and they certainly didn't come from Dell. You've been misinformed.

I love my Dells.

Ordered one!
After doing some searching on-line, including local office stores, and E-bay, I decided on the Pearlcorder T1100 (hopefully built to withstand a little heavier use) from digitalfotoclub.com It seemed to be the best price for what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
I just ordered one of those but thru AT&T - sm
Sprint did not have coverage where I am. It is enroute to me as I type.....probably have it in a few days, cannot wait!!!!! I just hope it works. Verizon offers it too. 595U AirCard/Wirelss modem. I wanted this one and not just the card since I can use it on my desktop and the laptop since it connects via the USB port and not a card slot (on laptop). I will post and let those interested know if/how it works when I get it. This is my last ditch effort to get high-speed where I am; told my neighbor I ordered it, she said you know now we will get DSL next month. Well we will see (doubt it though really). I'll worry about that when it happens!
I have not yet, but just ordered on of those MS - sm
Natural Multimedia keyboards that were being discussed here last week or so. Hard to find, but got one used at a place called Tech for Less, only $22. Shipping was $18 I think. This is a great site, great prices, ended up also buying a floppy drive I needed for my new laptop and a modem, each for $10 and brand new too. They have both new/new opened/and used. I will probably end up buying the external hard drive I have been putting off buying from them too, just need to do a little research first. But check it out, pretty cool stuff there.
No credit card is a good credit card.
Just kidding. I'd suggest not using credit cards to pay debts. It'll only dig you in deeper. Look into a signature loan or putting a lien against a vehicle or house. Lower interest rate, pay off sooner.
I haven't actually ordered it yet sm

But I don't think it will be too difficult for me since I already use a split keyboard. This just means less mousing while working. I will still use my mouse when web surfing, etc. Hope you find something that works for you.

I ordered them and used them for about a week or two...sm
I had the same concern about the batteries near my brain, almost a slight buzzing when you foot is not on the pedal. I ended up calling customer service and they gladly switched them for me to the less expensive QC1 headphones. I love them.
Has anyone ordered through PCDictate?
Are they legitimate?  I would like to order a foot pedal and they seemed to have the cheapest price.  TIA.
I just ordered a gel cushion....
with a section cut out in the back for the coccyx...I sure hope it helps, by the end of the day my bum is tingling and my back aches. Anyway, if it is helpful I will post another note.
Has anyone ordered pet meds from Entirely Pets?

My dog has Cushings and is on $200.00/mo worth of meds and we are going broke between them and the $1000.00/year testing needed,  not to mention shots, etc.  We are paying about $80.00/month for one medicine.  I found it at Entirely Pets for $32.00/mo - a big savings.  The package they show is the exact same as what we get from the vet, the dosage and the # of pills is also the same.   I read the description and it doesn't say anything about it being a generic or anything else that would raise a red flag.  I checked this med at 1800PetMeds and it is $60.00/month there.

I'm going to ask my vet tomorrow what she thinks.  I don't think she'll have a problem with me getting meds from another source but I'd like to hear feedback from an outside party too.

Has anyone ever ordered pet meds from 1-800-petmeds.com?? sm
I have to buy heartworm/flea meds and love the Sentinol product. It is much cheaper to buy it from petmeds, but I have never shopped there or know of any one that has. Also, do you need a "Rx" from your vet to buy the med? Thanks!
Anyone ever ordered Adipex on line? (SM)

And, if so did you have any results?  I am starting Weight Watchers and exercising 3 times a week but thinking about Adipex to help control my appetite.  TIA

Anybody ordered computer from Ebay to get
I just bought new computer which has Vista on it.  Until companies upgrade to be compatible with Vista, I need a XP computer.  Just wondered if you had bought off ebay and it was a good deal.  Thanks.
Have ordered it and am waiting for its arrival.
the tutorials, I think it will work for what I do.
I ordered online, but make sure to
select a computer from the "small business" section rather than the home version and that is where I found you could select XP or Vista.

Good luck!
Would you'all mind telling me where you ordered from? sm
I plan to order mine in the next month or two and understand you can order from distributors. Of course I would like the best deal on price and shipping and want to be sure I order from a reliable source and wonder where each of you ended up buying yours. Thanks for any help!
If this was something worrisome I would think they would have already ordered a core biopsy.

My boyfriend ordered me flowers last week from....sm
1-800-flowers but they dropped the ball and still haven't delivered. They sent him an e-mail at 6:30 last night stating that they wouldn't deliver as promised yesterday and we've both had a lot of problems getting through to a "human" to get this resolved. They still haven't been delivered and it's now 1:15 p.m. the day AFTER Valentine's Day. So much for ordering ahead and paying an extra "delivery guaranteed on time" fee.
tvps.com is offering same day shipping if ordered by 3p. nm
s
Well I've ordered mine! I'm so excited! nm
nm
I liked the way your looked and ordered the Ergohuman from the same line! Thanks! nm

we have regular TV satellite (Directv) but had ordered - sm
WildBlue for high-speed internet. Apparently they need a totally clear view of the southern sky. I am surrouned by very tall trees. Previous owners had one of those huge TV satellite dishes on a pole (still there but hidden by the trees) and we had Dish Network before. So I am not a happy. I do plan on contacting Verizon and seeing if a petition would help, I live less than 2 miles from a tower/verizon substation so I would think that putting in DSL here (boonies) would not be a hard thing to do. I know plenty of people who want it out here too. Just add it to my list of things to do and no time to do them in.
I just bit the bullet and ordered a Sierra Wireless - sm,
AirCard 875U via AT&T. This way I can use it on both my desktop and my laptop is it connects via the USB port, not a slot. Paid 0.01 for it (normally about $300-$350) on Amazon as a new customer; the plan is $80 a month though for unlimited access. The fees for the aircard for the laptop were cheaper at $60 a month, but I'd rather have it on my desktop. Figure I have nothing to lose to try it; can cancel in 3 days of activation and it is free, within a month and all I pay is the $36 activation fee. Sprint has one too, called a 595U, but they did not have coverage here, but AT&T did, so they got my business. I should have it early next week, very excited about using it and cannot wait. Just hope it works! (will have to beat the kids away from my computer though which is the only drawback for me)
