I sent out my resume last month to 6 copies that were advertising and only one contacted me, with a rather abrupt and peremptory-sounding demand for what experience I had (when I had listed it on the resume!). She turned me off, though she is supposed to be a good MTSO. Then acting on the suggestion of another MT here on the board, I faxed my resume to a company who had an account I used to work on, and I lucked out and it caught the attention of the company president who recognized my name. Just sheer dumb luck.

I've got nearly 20 years' experience myself and was actually kind of astounded that I wasn't even contacted for testing. It was weird.
