I used to use MK foundation, but they changed the formula and now I'm allergic to it.

It makes my eyes water and I can't wear it any longer.  I haven't found a foundation that I like as well as the previous MK formula.  I wish they hadn't changed it.

I used MK foundation once
and it did cause my face to itch. My sister used to be a MK director. I do LOVE their mascara, though, because it is the only kind I can wear that does not cause me to look like a raccoon by afternoon (oh, a rhyme!) I don't wear much makeup, though, especially when working at home.
The trailer I had was not on a permanent foundation,
the wheels were removed, and the interest rate was not outrageous.
You are asking for trouble. Your marriage must come first as the foundation for a strong family. nm

I confess. I did it. Adopt an Anchor, Save Our Jobs Foundation

Yeap, I confess. I sent my husband out on his dingy, and he dropped anchor because he is sick of me not paying all the bills and giving him thousands each month.

I confess.... I wanted the clear dictators that they send overseas while we struggle with the worst ones.

I confess... I am tired of getting paid half of what I was making interning in college with 4 times or more the cost. I do not get raises ever; I get pay cuts while spending more and more money on technology to ease the doctors' dictation process.

I confess.... I am sick and tired of seeing so many of my own medical reports look like swiss cheese. No wonder I flat lined during surgery when the overseas Transcriptionist typed the wrong medication, and my anesthesiologist overdid it...

I confess..... I want my own accounts back instead of working for services that pay me 1/4 of what they charge the client....

I did it. I am now trying to locate tankers on the other side of the world for additional help or loaning me their anchors. Please donate to the "Adopt an Anchor, Save Our Jobs Foundation." Who knows, the next anchor dropped could provide you with a job!

I wish I could - I have a fireplace but am allergic to...sm
fresh burning wood.  Wah!!!
Allergic to "cillins."
Is it acceptable to transcribe this as cillins, or is there an exceptable expansion I can use?
Yes, am allergic to their lipstick. Never tried anything else but that and
broke out with blisters on my lips. I am not prone to fever blisters or any of the sort. Dermatologist said I was allergic to whatever ingredients were in it. Never tried it again, use CoverGirl, and never had blisters again!
I'm allergic to my new earphones!!!

I know this sounds nuts (I'm nuts), but my noise-dampening earphones arrived a week ago and I put them on.  I should tell you that I have sensitivities to latex and adhesives, but this is not a problem I deal with very often.  Anyway, I donned and immediately began getting itchy.  I ignored it. Then my ears began to burn. I kept typing like a "good" MT.  Tee hee.  Then I started getting hives and my throat started to itch.  Yikes!!  Okay, that got my attention.  So I took them off and took a Benadryl.  I haven't touched them for this whole week, until today.  I tried them again, albeit foolishly, thinking it wouldn't happen again.  I was willing to think it was psychosomatic (allergy to work, ya know).  Ummm, nope.  It all happened again.  Oh well, at least Transcription Gear has a 30-day guarantee.  Wait until I give them my "reason for return".  Crazy.  I thought I'd give you all a 'Buyer Beware', 'FYI', and stuff like that...  See ya!

possible allergic reaction to something--sm
You also sound like you think it may be psychosomatic, which is always a possibility, but don't think so. possibly mumps, which is going around again these days. Get to a doctor. soon. jmo
formula
take the character with spaces number - divide by 65 and mutliply by your rate (0.11)- this would be with spaces - for without use the total charater count - use only after you save your work to ensure all characters are counted.
what is the formula
for a straight line count that MTstars program gives you - when I do - tools - properties - line ocunt is is much different - what is the formula used in the program - I thinkI may have been jipping muself.
formula
Divide your lines per hour by 60 then multiply by 15.
i.e. If you type 240 lines per hour; divide that by 60 = 4; then multiply 4 by 15 which would equal 60 words per minute.
a coworker is allergic to the foam
covering as well. either way they make my ears hurt/red so i put just a tiny bit of cotton from a cotton ball inside each ear before putting on my headset and don't have any problems.
It does sound like an allergic reaction...
What did he eat or drink prior to breaking out?  As long as it doesn't get any worse, I would just ride it out.  But if it does, I would follow the advice of the other poster.
I'm allergic to the daggon things, but I STILL

Could be Flonase, but that is usually 50 mcg for non-allergic symptoms
Might get more of a response on Word Help board instead
I used that formula too for $.059 per line
xx
I think you must have their formula backward.
They probably divide the total by 15 to come up with your 30 minute production rate, then multiply that  by 2 to average out for 8 hour day if you are paid by the line or incentive program.    What you are saying makes no sense and would be a detriment to them in any type of worker dispute hearing.
Formula of dictation
Depending on the dictation and your experience, the formula I have always used is: 4 minutes for every 1 minute of dictation or 225 lines minimum an hour.  It is usually required that a Transcriptionist do 100 minutes of dictation or 1,000 lines a day if you are working full-time.  I know some do less and some do quite a bit more.  I do anywhere from 1500+ lines a day.  I hope this helps.
this is equal to a very old formula
Back when documents were produced on typewriters, formulas were created to define the average length of a line. It was defined as 10 words with spaces, with the average word being 5 characters - thus 55 printed characters per line.

All the ad your reading is saying is that they will take all the visible characters you produce and divide it by 55 to decide your final production at the end of the day. It does not include bolding, underlining, hard returns, spaces, etc., as had been defined by the old AAMT.

The new AAMT/MTIA whatever it is called monster is redefining a line as only characters you see and this ad is embracing the new definition and defining 55 visible characters as a line. A 55 visible character line is approximately equal to a 65 line that includes spaces - but I bet they are not going to compensate for thespacesyouneedtoinsertintotthelinetomakeitreadable.

there has to be some sort of formula out there
to count the lines minus the headers and footers.
QA score formula
Can anyone post formula for figuring QA score.  Thanks!
No, but I knew someone allergic to the foam covering.
Might be something to ponder.
They are basically "sister" drugs. I am allergic
to naproxen, so cannot take ibuprofen now, as they are closely related. I would think if naproxen isn't helping, neither will ibuprofen. Try something unrelated like Tylenol?
his next allergic reaction will be quicker and worse.
get thee to an allergist.
Ohh, someone gave formula for figuring out

Formula for calculating lines?

Can anyone give me the formula for calculating lines rates? I need to know how much (money) is made if I transcribe 15,000 lines at 8 or 9 cents per line. Also, about how many pages is 15,000 lines (I know that each page will be different in lines for live transcription, but I'm looking for a ball park figure.) It's been a while since I have been on this payment format.

It's not unusual for a patient listed as allergic to penicillin to be given it anyway.
Often it's the only drug that will work and the allergy was vague and from so long ago, they deliberately try it anyway. If that had been the case, you'd have more than likely gotten a very negative response.
Formula: Dictation Minutes x 3 = 3 hours
That's always been the calculation -- a ten-minute report will take 30 minutes to type... one minute = three minutes, etc... Depending on how slow the doc is, though, you can really speed him up and sometimes type real-time.
Formula is: Characters PLUS spaces / 65 = lines. (nm)

I worked for a local hospital that used the same formula for our incentive pay.

When I worked for a vet. guy had dog allergy tested and dog was allergic to human dander. No kidding

If allergic to nickel, then avoid green beans, broccoli, peas, etc.
I have that same allergy, had problems with the old metal zippers, snaps, etc.

This is a link for metal/nickel allergy

127 if based on 65-char line (8243 divided by 65 is the formula) nm

People should have powdered formula/mild. Mix it up one bottle at a time.

Powdered formula/milk sounds like a good solution.
However, if you're out of a clean, nonpoluted water supply for over 2 weeks, with no resources available to receive such in the foreseable future, I don't believe even this alternative would suffice! Powdered formula needs to be mixed with something. The only alternative I could imagine available at this point in time would be urine, if you yourself were not totally dehydrated. If you were totally dehydrated & not producing urine, what is your next suggestion?

Has this changed?
Congrats!
Will all MTs be changed over to ASR?
x
no, nothing has changed.
Just a very bossy lady who waits until the last minute to give me the work, sometimes three to five days later than it came in, and then demands it ASAP. It isn't my fault she cannot keep up with the work.
Fed law changed that
We got a notice last year that the feds required they get 911 in place in all areas by the end of the year.  When we first got it, we had no 911 service.  We had to use the 911 service twice due to my son being so ill and it worked fine, however afterwards we had to reboot the modem and wait for half an hour to get the phone back.  I think having a regular line just for local calls is advisable and using Vonage for long distance only or work is the safest way to go.
Has changed now though

My husband  - now ex - has been in trucking for over 25 years and all of our friends have and are and were.  It has changed a lot and also depends on whether you own your own or drive for someone else.  Kind of like IC versus employee.  Also a lot have also been outsourced as there are a lot of foreigners driving the trucks now a days.   There is such a similarity between the two (MT and trucking) but this started with trucking sooner.   Just like MT you do not make money unless you are moving and when that truck has to pay two salaries it is hard.  But like you said, your dad raised four kids but in this day and age it would be hard to do.   If you are cross country it is so hard watching expenses, etc.  Again just like MT it was a good career and if you have been in it for years it is still decent pay but to start out in it, would not do that.  Just like MT as I have very good accounts, make very good money but when someone talks to me about starting out in it, I do shudder a little as I read such horror stories on this board and I know it is not as easy to do as it was when I started 20+ years ago.  I do still yearn for the open road sometimes though.  It is a way to see the US.   Drove through 42 of the 48 states here and Canada.  Anyway that is my thoughts for what they are worth.

changed
Yes there have been changes but not all companies abide by them either. Some stuff comes up to be all subjective though and some companies QA team is quite picky. Obviously your own accounts still like what you do so I wouldn't worry about it.
Maybe you changed the
spellcheck setting so that capitalized words would be spellchecked, which is a very smart thing to do.

I don't know how to make the change the poster below mentioned, but I'd rather have it spellcheck names than not spellcheck capitalized words, especially since I have to cap allergies.

I just changed ..
I did start at 4 a.m. but was finding it very difficult to get up consistently. Now I start at 5, and it's much easier. Due to kid's activitise it is often 10:30-11:00 pm before I get to bed, and I just personally could not do it.

so, you would have to make going to bed early a priority ..

Good luck to you!
I would think that if ANYTHING is changed
such as that, the MT would have to be notified. If you have a signed contract stating a line is XXX, then would they not be in violation for not disclosing the fact that the contract is now in violation?
I just changed my IT

Thanks for the tips.  I just recompiled my Instant Text glossaries and then went into the Importer and created abcz glossaries.  I hope this helps.  I really need to be making 300 to 500 lph because my huby was just laid off and no one is hiring.

Thanks again!!!!

I think you are right. I think they may have changed back to what it should have been all along.

Things have not changed
