You can also network there. This may be that "door opening". I think you really want the job and are trying to convince yourself. It sounds like a great opportunity. You can always come back to the QA at home. Health benefits are better on-site, plus you'll get to be around people and network. If you are great at QA, then you'll have no problem finding a job if the pathology doesn't work out. I think it sounds like a great opportunity. It may only seem like a $2.00 increase right now, but believe me physicians' offices give at least yearly raises and I can't really say that for on-line positions. Not an expert here, but I think this is a sign for you. Good luck!!!!
