a good QA system in place, they should instruct you to not spend any more than a couple minutes trying to figure something out.

Most likely a QA person will be able to fill the blank more easily if it is something you cannot verify and often will be able to understand a spot in dictation you cannot.

It is more efficient and better business to leave a blank than to waste all your time and energy or guess and put in the wrong term or wording.
