I am not sure that any of them are totally free. I use Spyware Doctor and I know they run a scan for free, which most of them do. They will remove some items for free, but not all. I believe Lavasoft has a free version though, but I don't know how good it is and I was told that it actually puts some sort of tracking cookie on your computer too. but I don't know how true that is either. I had used them once and it was VERY slow....took about an hour and a half to scan my computer. These are the only ones I know of. Be careful though, some of them are scams...oh! wait..try going to Trend Micro's website, I believe they have a housecall type scan and removal for spyware that is free. It has been a long time since I have needed any. good luck.
