NO WAY is this a geezer board - the way you all talk on here about
the ShortHand programs, keyboard functions, etc. etc. I would say this is more like a geek board. I don't understand half of what you all are saying. LOL
It sounds to me like she needs to talk with the principal or school board.
The school CERTAINLY should have rules about this kind of thing. I don't remember my parents coming to school unless there was a problem. Other than that, unless the teacher requests help with a party or something special, the parents don't belong there and the school should step up for your daughter.

This is the main message board. If you notice, not much on this page is directly related to MT. This is where we go to talk about anything else non-MT related.
One guy posted on message board, saying he was on his laptop in the car.
He said they are doomed if they do not open up the highway going the opposite direction, as you said. And, fuel is an issue, needless to say.
Mandatory evacuation should have been ordered soon, they are saying, as opposed to voluntary.

I'm trying to get a feel for who they are and if they would be a good employer if I worked for MQ, and then MQ sold to Nuance. This is PURE SPECULATION on my part.
Yes, venting generalizations on a message board is about as unprofessional
as a business owner can get. I'm glad I DID NOT apply with this company! Sounds too high maintenance, high stress, negative, dictatorial and critical for me.

Congrats...how have I not been supportive? I never called you anything nasty or said anything negative...I merely stated sometimes you have to suck it up...ESLs are never going to get any easier...you just have to adapt...and the pay will get better once you prove yourself...I think you just don't like the reality of the situation...sorry for being honest...
Whining incessantly anonymously on a message board is far from "fighting back and standing up for
your rights". Sheesh. That's how silly you all are. Blah, blah, blah on here 24/7 and I guarantee you that's the extent of your yaw. Otherwise, you'd be sharing some pertinent communications you've had with the people who MATTER - like your supervisors, managers, etc. And I don't like change? Sweetie, I go with the flow and have changed with this career every step of the way - starting back typing on a manual typewriter with 8 colored carbon copies and matching colors of "liquid paper" and listening to tapes, and now using state-of-the-art platforms with voice recognition as well. I'm happy, and still love my job. Thank you for your unstated concern! You have a problem with your work flow, dictators, you call your superiors and have it taken care of. If they don't "change" it to your liking, that's your answer - the handwriting is on the wall, so to speak! You're getting what they want to give you regarding work! Pounding your chest in words on this message board under an assumed name is nothing short of ludicrous. and over and over and over and over and over again....ya, ya, ya, cherry pickers, Indians, cherry pickers, Indians....yawn yawn. Ya take up good board space and don't realize how totally FOOLISH you look... snore.... But its your "breath", and your precious energy wasted, so go for it!! cherrypicking co-worker issue (meant to post it on this board instead of MQ board) sm...
I need opinions please...I work on a very small account with just a handful of ladies. Because of the nature of the software (trying not to get too specific here) we can see who is working online and what reports they are working on in real-time...
We have one cherrypicker on the account. Instead of using FIFO method, she retrieves the reports by author ID - usually picking the better dictators of course. She knows I busted her and she did admit to it in on our work e-mail (not too bright) which I am saving just in case she gets out of hand - so far I'm still able to make money since really most of the dictators aren't bad.
But every night it's starting to wear on me since she's screwing up turnaround time. I don't really want to cause a big uproar being that it is such a small account and I need to work with her almost every night usually one on one.
What would you all do? I want to handle this as delicate and professional as possible because we can't really afford to lose anyone on this account. In other words, I refuse to stoop to her level by cherrypicking right back.
My boss has asked me several times why so-and-so does so much more than I do...I just bite my lip at that point but one of these days I think I might explode and just open up a can of worms....
Definitely one of the other board's people who refer to those on this board as "holy rollers,&

I think to give up a child so that it can have a better life takes a lot of love. I don't think anyone does this to be mean or selfish. It's the most unselfish thing a person can do. Is this your child? How old?
Doc's talk to me
I do about 15 doctor's and I have at least 10 that do talk to me. Only one is a griper, the rest are real friendly and always tell me nice things, plus call me by name, which is a + in my book.
need a pep talk
I am feeling so rotten about myself and my MTing abilities today. I got an E-mail from quality control about several errors in a report and complaints from that particular hospital on this one report. Apparently, I had put she in several spots that should have been he. I also did not fill out the demographics screen. I guess I am getting ahead of myself with this produce, produce, produce thing. I suppose it is time to slow down. Anyone else had a slap on the wrist and felt horrible and then just feel so unsure of yourself that you just feel like you need to put the keyboard up for a while? 
So what do YOU want to talk about?

I've been in this business since 1981. For many years I felt it was the greatest opportunity I could have ever had with a high school education only. I was trained on-the-job by a teaching hospital. You know what I mean, the money-making career without the college. Well, that worked out all and well until a few years ago (or maybe more, I was busy having kids and lost track of my mind...lol) when I noticed that suddenly companies were trying to rip off transcriptionists. And I don't mean a few, I mean MOST. In trying to look for a job with benefits, because I got divorced, I was thinking to myself, what the heck happened.....and was also thinking, surely these are just transcriptionists who have been burned. NOT SO. The medical Transcriptionist has been lost....we are made to feel as secretaries, time wardens, ESL experts, etc. I am totally baffled by it. BECAUSE, we are professionals, we really are. How many people do you know could sit down and do what we do? It is specialized, it should be treated as a profession, yet company after company is offering not much more than 8 cpl. HELLO??? Are you kidding me??? I should just go get a job at McDonald's.....I am serious, I am so furious right now I can't see straight. This is pitiful. I now am truly sorry I even ever entered the transcription profession. Let's all walk away and see where they are then!!! Okay, thanks for the vent. I AM SO FRUSTRATED.
Just talk with them
They have probably had to set up other people, I would call and talk with the person that asked me if I was looking for more work and explain to them that you have usually just been on the other end and what you have that you are working with now, am assuming you have the pedal and you download from your large service, well if they are digital then they will just upload and you will go on some site and download your files. But don't let this opportunity get away from you as when they need someone usually the first warm body that comes through the door is the one that they grab if they can do a half way decent job. But call and ask questions and do the research on what they are currently doing now. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
