It's not always what you think . . .

I am an IC for a company where all my accounts are 24-hour TAT, but if the work comes in after 5 p.m. EST, it is considered to have come in the following morning.  So work that comes in after 5 on Friday isn't due until Tuesday morning.

With one particular pooled account, many times there are jobs that come in during the day, and I don't take them because I already have enough and wouldn't be able to get more done within TAT.  The account is a secondary account for all the MTs working on it.  However, I sometimes take all the jobs that come in after 5 p.m. on Friday, even when there are jobs ahead of those.  I know I can't get the earlier jobs done in 24 hours, or even by early Monday, but I can complete the ones that come in late and aren't due until Tuesday.  That means I usually have a huge amount of jobs due Tuesday, but I have the entire weekend and Monday to do them.

To some MTs this must look like cherry picking, because they see jobs taken out of order.  I get the work done, so my MTSO doesn't care.  Plus all the MTs on this account work different hours, so everything does get done within TAT.

Would this bother you?  If you have enough other work, would it still bother you?
