have a right to dictate to the MTSO when they will work (which is true to some extent), but they cannot DEMAND work from the MTSO for any given time period. All they can do is let the MTSO know when they want to work. Just because you want 9 to 5 or 12 to 3, etc., does not mean they have to give you work. An IC is used by a lot of MTSOs as a backup to their FT and PT employees, they are entitled to the work first and if the MTSO has no coverage for certain times, then they have every right to say that they only need an IC from midnight to 7 a.m. If you don't want to work then, then look for another job.
